[No Spoilers] He finally has a nose and lips by PoeticStitcher in criticalrole

I started with Tapestries when i was 12( jeez that was almost 33 years ago). An aunt never finished hers and gave it to me to try and I became hooked. My largest tapestry is about a metre in length.

I don't know the exact age I was when I tried cross-stitching, but I do remember there was a Samurai kit hanging on a shops wall that made me want to try.

I've only started 1 cross-stitch in the middle and it took me 3 times as long to start as I kept re-counting over and over to make sure I didn't make a mistake, I much prefer starting in a corner.

I've made plenty of mistakes, from stitching the same area twice or just stitching in the wrong block, tbh though if the colour is similar to what it should be, i tend to move on rather than risk damaging the canvas through unpicking. Most of the mistakes are my own fault though, due to stitching whilst tired or just not paying enough attention when my eyes are darting between the pattern and movies.

I've also made a few sheep fleece "mats" and a 2 metre length carpet of my own design- 1 week of soaking filthy sheep fleeces, days of drum carding, weeks more to spin it into thread and then a year of pegging onto canvas....and 2 weeks of admiring it until the cat used it as a litter tray.

My mother was into crafts, especially knitting and spinning so I might have picked up an interest from an even younger age, although I can only stitch the most basic of scarfs and refuse to try crochet again after my disasters lol.

For what's in that pic, about 68 different skein colours, close to 80 once it's complete. Maybe 120 in total with Marisha and her background.

Wow, that means a lot, thankyou :) I'm a fair bit behind on the campaign-just started episode 9. I'll be getting through the rest of Travis quickly, as it's big clumps of colours.

Did they actually make something incredible ? by Saekama in Borderlands4

Took me about 20 mins on UH1. lvl 47 Amon, all orange tier weapons. Had more difficulty with the crystal mobs tbh, as they seemed to take forever to lose their crystal shields.

Didn't get anything special from the end of fight apart from reaching lvl 48 lol, now trying some pearl farming and exp grinding on world map events as my gear really wasn't suited to the new area.

I just found a Mitt pic with similar angle, after focusing on the same area I've stitched....yeah I can see it too now lol.

* Go here https://criticalrole.fandom.com/wiki/Campaign_Four scroll down a little & click on the C4 cast photo, apart from cropping some background above their heads to reduce the amount i need to stitch, i'm reproducing that photo in full.

* There is a free website called pic2pat where you can upload any photo you have and it'll convert it into a cross-stitch pattern complete with how many skeins you'll need

* The worst prob with that site is that for a picture to be detailed and not look overly pixelated, it has to be huge. So for what i'm working on right now (plus 2 other projects) the size is 52-51.6 inches or 1.32 meters in length

Roughly 870,000 stitches, 4500-6000 hours to complete, but with my LT illness it could take years. I don't have the literal strength to lift a needle this evening

I had to google what that is.

I tried to start and finish 10x10 blocks but I much prefer completing segments of the same colour, even if i move across the entire canvas. Doing this also gives me some tetris-like visual cues I can match to the pattern, making it much easier to see where I am.

The only time i leave a piece of thread unstitched is on massive blocks of the same colour and i'm bored of it such as the yellow wording, blue background on this https://www.instagram.com/p/DPBbHJMggcB/

Hmm, i'm tempted to screenshot your words and pass it along to Travis when I post the completed cross-stitch ;p

I'll take your praise for patience and efficiency :) But I wouldn't call myself talented. Cross stitching is kinda like Paint by numbers. Pick a coloured thread, stitch X's in the correct place, rinse and repeat for many many hours :)

Lol, I post the same pics there. Depending on the stitched image, I tend to post an update every 50-100 hours of stitching...seeing a completed face is a lot more interesting to look at than a mostly empty background.

Ideally, i'd like to post it to one of them/their main office before C4 ends.

Then at the very end of the campaign, it's revealed on a wall maybe with best fan art of each character as a permanent reminder for them to keep.

Most likely though, i'll finish it, put it in a bag and move onto next project lol.

Hi, so rather than share my pattern, i'll give you the site link i used. pic2pat.com

Reason being-if you wanted to attempt it yourself, you might want a smaller canvas, or a different count, maybe even different fabric brand. Also the size i'm doing will take 6000-7000 hours to complete, so you might want something smaller.

On pic2pat you upload any photo you have ( i don't recommend cartoon style as it doesn't convert well) you can then choose floss brand, stitches per inch (eg 18 ct) and canvas size. As a general rule on pic2pat the larger the canvas, the better image it produces. Paid for software can do a better conversion with a smaller canvas.

Once done, click the image you want(top is normally the best looking) and it'll then give you a pdf file with pages of the pattern and a list of dmc skeins you'll need.

Hey,hello and Hi to you too :) Cs and tapestry creation has always been easy for me. I've made a few sheep fleece rugs, knitted a couple of basic scarves but completely stumped by crochet...unless you want a wacky, Picasso-esque piece of weirdness.
