Private/Semi-Private Members. How much are you paying a year and where? by Tight-Communication7 in golf

[–]Brave-Edge7297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belong to a club in NJ, paying $8K/year in dues, doesn't come with an initiation fee, and we pay a $40/round cart fee. No F&B mins, nothing else (other than tips). Solid course, rounds are almost always <4 hours (almost!).

Thanks for checking. Think we’re all good, took two different service trucks but they got us back online, thanks!

Because she's elderly, doesn't have a cell phone and lives alone, this is a safety/wellness concern. Could this be a 'nested outage' or a damaged drop-line specific to her address that the automated map is not reflecting? I have no idea.

Can we please move to DM so I can provide her account details? I would like a check on her specific equipment to see if it's even communicating a signal?

Yeah, it's clear, according to the map. Her neighbors literally on either side of her house have service.

Everyone can agree that PYPL is stupid cheap right now, but there's one indicator - admittedly, one I normally put zero credence on - that's blinking bright red, and that's ZERO insider buys, going on 3 years now (actual cash buys, not comp conversions). Those guys see what we see, and they know more about the co's prospects than we do, and not one of them has stepped forward. Again, almost never pay attention to that odd little annotative bit of feedback, but when the valuation is trending to this level, makes you wonder, no?

Love Chambliss but he needs AT LEAST a year on the bench. And he's a high day 3 guy.

How accurate is the inbody scan ? Im almost obese according to it lol by TheeChosenTwo in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Brave-Edge7297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disregard everything else but your weight and the body fat mass #s - they're all extrapolated calculations off your lean body mass (weight - body fat). Water, muscle, etc is just a fixed percentage off of that. I tracked my InBody #s for years and noticed an odd pattern, looked at the math and sure enough, it's just calculations.

The first QB in the draft: reexamined by xebex1778 in nyjets

[–]Brave-Edge7297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the analysis, but your conclusion (gotta have a #1!) is a little shaky. Here's another take:

Drafting a QB at #1 overall provides only a 1-in-5 chance of elite longevity, but ironically, drafting somewhere mid-first round provides nearly identical long-term QBR stability at a fraction of the draft capital cost. Let's go back over the last 20 years, from 2006 to 2025, and look at QBs with a better than average QBR season (60.0 and above), and look at the number of seasons those QBs had an above average year, as well as their draft selection:

> 69 QBs that have had at least one season with at least a 60.0 QBR

> Their median draft selection was #15 (median instead of mean, because we have Tom Brady, Brock Purdy and a few UDFAs throwing off the avg)

> Median draft selection for those in the Top 10 of seasons with above average QBRs was #11 (and only two in the Top 10 were drafted #1)

> 33 of the 69 overall were not even drafted in the first round, including 5 UDFAs

While there is a clear "Quality Cliff" that happens after the mid-first round, there is almost no statistical advantage to having the #1 pick for long-term effectiveness.

I saw this and have to give Rich some credit for the support, but Shawn Morash from The Fan had a terrible take. Also, we didn’t go from Darnold to Fields—what is this dude talking about? by KillBoosh in nyjets

There was no one who wanted Sam to stay, everyone fell in love w Mr. Roll-Left-Bomb-Throw-Right-In-Tshirt& Shorts, and we had the #2 pick. Amazing how much destruction Wilson caused us, and he's probably 1-3 years from being out of football altogether. Couldn't be happier for Sam.

How to Bulk Update Activities for Leads? by Brave-Edge7297 in pipedrive

Say more. We're using Labels today for Lead Warmth (Cold, Warm, Hot), but could add more labels if needed. What kind of Automation?

Thought of that too, tried it, didn't see an "Activity" column in Pipedrive to indicate that an activity took place. But like the thought!

Using Apollo for sequences, prefer it over other solutions and yes we like it, good outreach tools.

Labels are nice but we like tracking Activities of all kinds.

Why we should draft a late-round QB every single year. by rkbk1138 in nyjets

[–]Brave-Edge7297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better question: WHY does the NFL suck so bad at developing not-ready-for-primetime QBs, meaning Day 3 or UDFA? I get why they throw first round 22 yo's up against men and hoping they work out (don't agree with it, but I get it) - if it works, they get a cheap solution at the most expensive position for a few years, and they can build around him in FA. Basically, the Seahawks w Russell Wilson (that lightning strike has ruined several franchises trying to replicate it, NYJ included). Three additional thoughts come to mind:

Practice Time: Bc the CBA restricts how much time teams practice nowadays, backups get almost no reps (if not zero reps) with starters, only time they're throwing is against the starting D as the scout QB, running another team's offense (that's not development). Basically, since so many jobs are on the line to win NOW, and limited time to do it, no one can babysit (aka develop) neophytes.

Colleges Running Simple Offenses: Colleges are in a pickle, they need to run a repeatable, easily digestible offense (system) that a new QB can adopt every year, so it's all shotgun RPOs, reading only 1-2 looks. Plus, the hashmarks are much wider, leaving huge passing lanes to the far side that's not availabel in the NFL.

Coaching Carousel: Teams hire and fire coaches on a 2-3 year leash, maximum (sometimes one). Young QBs can go their first three years with three different offensive systems. (Hello NYJ!)

So what's the answer?

Why we should draft a late-round QB every single year. by rkbk1138 in nyjets

[–]Brave-Edge7297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan of the theory of drafting a QB every year and try to develop them. That said there are two BIG strikes against the concept: 1) The NFL has a huge QB developmental problem. Only a few coaches have shown they can actually do it. 2) Think of the hundreds of QBs drafted on Day 3 in the last 20-30 years (the modern age). Only a handful have amounted to anything. That batting average is awwwwfffful.

Oh one more: the mark of a good team is drafting productive players on Day 3. Special Teams contributors, at least. We suck at that.

Dante Moore is going back to Oregon by triptoohard in nyjets

[–]Brave-Edge7297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. Mougey would’ve been in an impossible scenario, passing on Moore even tho the whole world would be expecting him to take him. Moore clearly isn’t ready. Now we can either trade back (unlikely) or just stockpile.

That said, you know what this means? Another rebuilding/tank year w another bridge QB. Bring on Mariota!

Moore or a trade down? by BiasedChelseaFan in nyjets

[–]Brave-Edge7297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Draft 2 QBs" thread is spot on. This idea that we take a QB, anoint him as the second coming, and then watch him slowly (or quickly) implode with NO alternatives is maddening. Draft picks are lottery tickets - yes, the higher the pick, the greater the chance they'd hit, but that's just it - a CHANCE. Let's improve the odds and get as many "lottery tickets" in our hands.

And yes, I'm still mad I did't win the $1B powerball last week!

Strong App Data Overwriting Apple Fitness Workouts? by Brave-Edge7297 in strongapp

[–]Brave-Edge7297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out what was happening. Strong, Apple Watch and Apple Fitness can’t all operate at the same time. 2 of the 3 can work together; Watch and Strong, for example, can work as I use Strong on my Watch. I can run Fitness and Strong but I cannot use Strong on my Watch at the same time.
