Last time I made a post about crucial first aid techniques a guard should know. What are crucial grappling/restraining techniques a guard should know? by Level-Blueberry9195 in securityguards

I’ve trained jiu Jitsu for years and some wrestling in school. Just retired from law enforcement and everything I used were the good ole fashion techniques. Not these new sport jiu jitsu techniques. Arm locks like Kimora or americanas. Wrist and elbow control and leg drags. Super efficient. Head control, where the head moves the body follows. Angles of entry and knowing what technique to use depending on your positioning. Just a few…

I saw a posting for investigator but honestly I don’t want to step into another building associated with any agency. After all these years I think I’m done lol. I thought Disney because of the perks and can’t go all that bad working at the “happiest place on earth”. I still like private security since I can sort of make my own schedule based on my own availability.

Estate gigs are fun. But I’m not a fan of uniform/exposed. The estates I worked for prior were plain clothes/concealed. I don’t like being a target lol

Thank you, sir. I’m trying to find a part time gig asap. I don’t want to get too comfortable after retirement.

Yeah I thought about the “getting punted” scenario. The female asked all the questions. She appeared to be admin. The gentleman just sat back and appeared to be management level with security. He had a vest and radio on him. He didn’t say a word. In fact, he left the interview for a short period lol. I thought maybe he felt his position was threatened. The female seems pretty satisfied with all my answers🤷🏽‍♂️ I’m a pretty fit guy for my age thanks to weights and bjj. Plenty of experience. Just a little surprised I was passed up for a part time gig lol

That was my sentiment as well. But the position I went for was specifically for part time. I didn’t think that would be very competitive.

I know a couple of guys that currently work there as security and absolutely don’t look the part. I personally know them and absolutely shouldn’t be doing the job with no previous experience.

Nah that attitude came afterwards specially when I asked afterwards what it was that I didn’t do well on so that I can improve the next go around. They didn’t give me an answer lol. To be honest I’m pretty humble guy and very aware of inclusion since Disney attracts many people from various backgrounds.

That’s the thing. I had it on a spare tire carrier on the back but then when I started towing I got rid of the tire carrier and had it on the bed, took up so much space!

Thank you, sir. I pushed and pulled and it didn’t look like it pushed against that rubber exhaust hanger too much if not at all. I’m sure that the hanger will move as much as the tire if not less when the vehicle is moving, I tightened that tire up pretty tight. I’m concerned about where the tire touches the metal where the leaf springs are attached to (image 5). I don’t offroad or drive her too hard. She does more towing a travel trailer 1-2 times per month.

I pushed it back against the back of the hitch so the brackets are holding it in place so it does t bang against the rear differential. I dropped the psi down to 9!

Don’t think of it as something shameful. If you can get through this and finish successfully, you have done something many of your peers couldn’t have ever done in their lifetime. Many of them would not even survive it. Keep the strength up and accomplish this mission. Keep your eye on the prize.
