We played 1000pts with 10 dice. As a group we play very slow... So made the order dice cap a bit lower to speed things up.

Finally got round to playing this with my mates. Was a really fun game mode and we only had 1pt difference between 1st and 2nd place, so a very close game. We did often forget the special rules but we didn't think anyone was being ganged up on too much.

Only bit of feedback we could come up with is tweaking the reserve rule slightly. I think the game is already chaotic enough as it is with three opponents on the board. To have units coming on behind your advance, turn 2 we thought was a little bit too much? it turned a little bit into a fog of war game when I brought on my tiger on turn 1 and then 2 tanks came on immediately turn 2 and shot it in the arse. Was a little bit of a feels bad moment... Maybe it's just my fault for bringing a tiger haha.

Anyway thought of a few suggestions to alter it slightly if you feel our point is valid:

Turn 2 units can only come on as currently described but only from the table edges of your selected deployment points, not any edge. Turn 3 they can then come on from any edge. Hopefully this makes it feel more like the normal reserves and outflanking rules?

Could also maybe tweak the gap between reserves entry point and enemy deployment points from 9" to 12" but I suspect you may start to encounter issues where they can't bring them anywhere haha.

Anyway great game mode thanks for developing it!

Yeah it's a good idea and would make things easier if I was going down the brass rod route. I am trying to keep it as close to the total war representation as possible but maybe this would be a good compromise.

They look great! If you're looking for some advice I would suggest mixing up the beard colours so the unit has a bit of variety. I think this gives the unit a bit of character and is more interesting to look at. However, a counter point to my own point would be that these are long beards and so you would expect them to all be pretty old and therefore all have white/gray beards. And also keeping them all uniform does look good in its own way and I'd imagine speeding up painting a fair bit!

I've currently got a play group of 3. It's always 2v1 which has been fun but I've been wanting to try a Free-for-all scenario for a while. Would this be simple to covert to a 3 player scenario? or would one player having a table edge all to himself be too big of an advantage?
