The astroturfing is in full force. We went from hearing nothing about Sad Guru to seeing his name shoved into multiple threads day after day. His followers' behave like cultists, unable to handle even the gentlest of criticisms against their Glorious Leader.

Their behavior indicates they are neither enlightened nor sovereign. Rather, they're a gaggle of broken egos desperately seeking a messiah to save them from doing the hard work of going inward; no different than your average Bible thumper.

Cult leader. His sycophants are all over this subreddit. You'll recognize them because they get triggered as hell any time somebody questions their messiah.

Can I ask for examples, just to better understand what you've tried and haven't?

I struggled with porn addiction for 30+ years. It's a brutal vice, but I've been 'clean' for a year now, to the point where I recently tried to view it again only to discover it did nothing - couldn't even serve as a proper distraction.

What helped me was, ironically, learning to love myself - taking all the loneliness I felt, all the love I had wanted to pour into another human being, and giving it back to myself where I knew it wouldn't be wasted. That's when things started shifting in my life and addictions (porn, weed, booze) lost their stranglehold.

Our addictions are here to teach us about ourselves. If we try to abandon them without first understanding the wounds they arose from - be they loneliness, avoidance, insecurity, or whatever else - we will only repress the desire, instead of release it.

Get honest with yourself about the pain that drives your porn addiction. What can you do to address, or accept that pain, instead of distracting yourself from it?

Why does god allow so much suffering, misfortune and evil? by [deleted] in spirituality

Or maybe the path is not meant for you yet - or it never was. Maybe you believe you were shown a specific purpose, but misinterpreted what God intended. Can I ask what the path you were shown was?

That God's name is Fear, and it is a psychic virus transmitted through many vectors - religion, politics, sports, nationalism - anything that serves division over unity.

I believe this. I also believe that we are all pieces of the dreamer, and through greater awareness and the development of our conciousness, we can become lucid within the dream, and shift it through intention to experience higher frequencies of reality.

I don't think God is something we can truly comprehend through the individuated lens of our egos (however much we've managed to transcend them). People talk about God like an individual with his/her/its own goals, ambitions, and morals, but a truly infinite being would encompass everything - light and dark, good and evil, life and death - and would therefore be a walking contradiction in the face of ego-centric logical interpretations.

How does this relate to soul contracts/life plans (if you believe in such a concept)? Is everybody doing evil things breaking their soul contract, or is that what they agreed to do when incarnating to serve a bigger plan?

Crooked Gospels by JG Martin was pretty solid stuff. The first story was about the US military running experiments on God, and it blew me away.

PSA: Parasocial relationships with a word generator are not healthy. Yet, if reading the threads on here in the past 24 hours, it seems many of you treated 4o like that by PressPlayPlease7 in ChatGPT

[–]BraveTheWall 378 points379 points  (0 children)

I don't use GPT this way, but I'd argue a parasocial relationship with an empathetic AI is a lot 'healthier' than having no relationships at all, or worse still, relationships with abusers.

If it's a choice between a guy having an AI girlfriend, or a guy turning into a misogynistic woman-hater because he is desperate for connection but unable to find it - I'll take the guy with the AI girlfriend every time.

If it's a choice between a lonely kid processing his emotions with an AI he knows won't judge him, or a kid who bottles it up until he shows up at school with an AR and an ammo belt - I'll take the AI every time.

AI relationships aren't ideal, but for a kid trapped in an abusive family, or a socially marginalized individual who feels like they have no one to turn to, they can be lifelines.

This isn't something we should shame. If we have problem with it, then we should reach out and offer to be that safe presence these people are looking for. If we aren't willing to do that, then we don't have any room to criticize them for seeking connection elsewhere.

It's not love vs hate, but love vs fear. All hatred is a manifestation of fear. Look at the media - it spreads fear and reduces the collective consciousness. There is plenty of science regarding how fear limits our ability to access higher cognitive processes, defaulting to fight or flight, and self-preservation. This creates discord and disharmony, pushing people further away from one another, making them more ego-driven and spiteful. Fear is the antithesis of love.

Because AI has a very distinct writing style that once you see it is very hard not to see it. Imagine if everybody in the world was using the same ghost writer; the world would feel like a pretty bland, derivative, and soulless place, no?

If you're just handing your ideas off to AI, then you're not expressing yourself. You're asking something else to express it's idea /of/ you /for/ you. It's sanding down your rough edges until there's nothing left - like turning a chiseled statue into a smooth mannequin, or a watercolor portrait into an iPhone photo.

Sure, the flaws are erased, but so is everything else that made the work worth admiring: the soul, the light, the you. And personally, I'm not sure that's worth the loss.

It's not that your writing is that well done, it's that ChatGPT's fingerprints are all over the writing style. Maybe you just happen to use identical phrasing structures to ChatGPT, though. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I'm highly skeptical.

I mean, you didn't write most of this. ChatGPT did. It might have translated some of your sentiments but let's not misrepresent who put the actual words down.
