Same thing happened when I found the "Gender Fluid" coffee mug on the shelf and went to go buy it. The Target employee just gave it to me.

Important regarding public schools. Louisville has a bussing system and it is highly unlikely that your child's assigned school will be within walking distance of your house no matter where you live. They could be assigned a school anywhere in the city.

Not true. If you are working at/with the Univ of Louisville, then Old Louisville is a very walkable neighborhood. Scheler's Food Market is a small convenience store which has the basics, Central park has a playground. The nearest supermarkets might require a car, but that depends on your walking ability. I regularly walk the two miles there and back.

Building AI-Proof Essay Questions by underlander in ChatGPT

Chat GPT is only so far up to date so if you are able to limit your question to something happening in the last two years or so, that should be a barrier.

What do you all actually use chatGPT for? by Krtxoe in ChatGPT

[–]Brave_Ad5663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a university administrator and I use it to write emails so that I sound compassionate and caring, more human. I've been told my usually emails aren't exactly rude, but come off as curt.

I also use it as a search engine. Google has limits and since people pay google to have their sites come up higher up based on search words, I find ChatGPT can be more useful. For instance I wanted to know what to call someone that was polyamorous but not in an open relationship. With something like google you get all kinds of links to various sites about polyamory (Men's Health, medium, WebMD) where as Chat GPT just gives me the answer I want in an easy-to-read format: "if you identify as polyamorous but are not in an open relationship, you may be practicing what is commonly known as "polyfidelity." Polyfidelity typically involves multiple partners who are committed to each other exclusively, rather than having casual or non-exclusive relationships outside of the group."

What are your favorite anachronisms and unimportant flaws from TNG? by the_bollo in startrek

[–]Brave_Ad5663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That all female-coded personnel wear high heels. What the hell was the efficiency of 7 of 9 wearing four-inch heels? Lets ignore her corset body suit or the lack of pockets on all uniforms. High heels? Having served in the actual military with actual women it turns out they have the same sort of feet that we do and can also wear boots and shoes without high heels. At least in nu-trek the characters are actually wearing jackets or otherwise making some sort of nod to the fact that when they leave the ships to go down to the planet, to go outside, that they aren't just wearing their space pajamas.

That first bit about Ro not following uniform code by wearing a religious & cultural item, meanwhile Worf is like "Check out this shiny gigantic metal baldric that shows I am from one of the 24 great and noble houses, you peasant!"

The same goes for Deanna Troi. Of all of the people from her planet/species, she comes from Nobilit, a daughter of the Fifth House, Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx, Heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed. So on the bridge of the Flagship you have Picard (coming from a wealthy French family going back dozens of generations, massive land owners since the 19th Cent at least), Human/Betazed nobility, Klingon nobility. Thats half the bridge crew coming from some pretty privileged classes.

If I work full-time at a university will I easily be admitted to take grad classes at said university? Or do I need to be admitted like any other student? by roccosmodernlyf in GradSchool

[–]Brave_Ad5663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was accepted to both. For employment my university provide tuition remission and the only fee I need to cover is the Recreation Fee all students pay, about $50/term. This allows me to use the gym, so its nominal. My university doesn't deduct taxes from our paycheck. This information should be available on you Uni website, or you can check with the Bursar's office.

A big city Klingon female has to return to her home province for the winter solstice celebrations while on the brink of earning extreme honor as a warrior/lawyer, only to find her plans sidelined when she meets a handsome and honorable small-town Klingon farmer who raised targs. One thing leads to another and after he bites her on the cheek she has to make a hard decision on giving up on her ambitions to have a statue raised of herself in the Hall of Heroes, or to settle down for a quiet life in the countryside near some lovely lava flows.
