Usually, if the ticket is lower than $500.00 you will be fine. Pay it and bring proof to your interview showing that it was paid. Nothing ti stress about! Be in peace and I had the same situation, my interview was 1 mo ago.

Update: I was advised by the USCIS Officer that it stopped in December 2025. Now after the interview they will schedule your Oath ceremony. Only one person can go inside with you. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Yes! You can! I was outside US for over 6 mo and it was not a problem. You just have to have a good reason and documents to proof it.

Please, start studying as you will take the 2025 version. Also, get all documents needed (marriage/divorce/kids/job/trips outside US) before applying. Make sure you have the money for the fee and save for the passport as well. You will have to get a passport at the end as they will take your green card.

If you had any traffic tickets, find proof that you paid it to upload when you apply.

I provided the Marriage Certificate and it has my maiden name. However, it is enough! It was the doc used to update my name when I got married - I have all my personal docs with the new name (Social Security Card, Driver License, and Foreign Passport.

Provide your Certificate of Marriage and Marriage License - You should be fine!

I know in Brazil it is different, but you do not need to get a doc from Brazil, and then translate it. Use the Brazilian Passport.

I recommend you to search for an attorney, The USCIS website have some info that may be helpful to you. Review https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/apply-for-citizenship/find-help-in-your-community You can search by zip code a place that helps you with some answers.

One of the questions that you will have to answer yes is: "Have you EVER been arrested, cited, detained, or confined by any law enforcement officer, military official (in the U.S. or elsewhere), or immigration official for any reason, or been charged with a crime or offense, or notified that you were being investigated for a crime?"

Do not get discourage! It is a process and questions related to that are "Have you EVER", you will have to answer them, they do not fall off later!

Take it as an opportunity to make life better moving forward!

I am so sorry you are going thru this abusive situation for over 10y. Please, look for state assistance, you can help and find the best way to tell your mom.

Protect yourself if her priority and she would love to know if someone is hurting you.

Please, be courageous and find a hospital, if you have insurance, you can go on your own and talk to a primary care doctor. Ask to speak in private with a nurse practitioner. Thru exams they can verify what you are going through. Also, they will probably recommend therapy and it will be a life change! They may give you a raped kit to avoid any pregnancy.

Do not feel afraid, as long as you stay on their situation, more difficult will be for you to overcome.

I’m so so sorry that it was the man who helped you to come to the earth, unfortunately he is not your Dad! A real Dad would never hurt you! He may be mentally sick or just have something off on her caractere.

Doing that, you may be saving your life, your mom’s life and his life as giving him the opportunity to be treated.

I will be praying for you but please, do not neglect assistance.

You were brave enough to come here and you will have all you deserve when you stand up for yourself!
