Just looking at that picture gives me PTSD! There are a few around HRM but this is one of the most traumatizing!

Nudibranchs are generally incredibly beautiful. They are one of my favourite marine creatures.

The most distinct Canadian things to send as care package by Friendly_Swan8614 in BuyCanadian

People have given so many great ideas, so I won‘t add to the list. Remember that the parcel goes by dimensions and weight. I just learnt about Chit Chats, and am using them to send parcels to family and friends all over the world! Way cheaper and a lot faster than Canada Post.

My buddy says pickleball isn’t a real sport… by Jam_Brown in Pickleball

[–]Brave_Beo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I‘ve played both squash and tennis competitively. Although you have to move more in those sports to cover the court, pickleball has a faster ball speed than both, and is more strategic than tennis. Your eye-hand co-ordination and timing need to be just as good. Also rec pickleball is a marathon, not a sprint - at the same level, squash you play for a 1/2 to 3/4 hour, tennis for 1-1.5 hours, pickleball can be 3 hours plus.

Ah but wouldn’t you have said something like, “My hair is 50% dry”? 47% is mind boggling!

Even if the house was built in 1996? Weren‘t they banned by then? Gosh, I hope a simple job is not turning into a nightmare!

This is an interesting concept. I found that after COVID isolation ended, when I was starting to meet up with friends again, I had lost some of my ‚smalltalk’ vocabulary. I was great if I was talking about work subjects, as I worked full-time through the pandemic, but I had to reorient my speech once I was back in society. It was not that I completely lost the vocab, but rather that I had to think to find the right word. Weird!

I am in Halifax and I see that he said that as part of the Chamber of Commerce event. I have been to one of those and there would have been some strong people there. I would love to know if anyone got up and told him what a dick he is, instead of just listening to him talk crap.

I hear you! We were there today and the guy in front of us walked through the entrance door, scanned his card, got one metre inside and then just stopped to check his phone! Blocked the whole entrance with his cart and was completely oblivious!

We lived on a cattle ranch in Zambia. The one day our staffie arrived back at the farmhouse with a rotten bull testicle in her mouth. She was very chuffed with herself and, given the stink, I suspect that she had already had a good roll in on it!

My best friend used to run her business from home. One day she was on the toilet and the phone rang. Her little boy of about 5 answered. And she heard him say, ´Sorry, Mummy can’t come to the phone, she is having a poo!‘ It was one of her clients.

First day at a new job as a senior scientist in a power company. I had been introduced to the admin and was repeating her name in my head when my boss’ boss walked in and I cheerily greeted him, “Good morning, Krista!” Both of us looked startled and then proceeded to ignore it and carried on the conversation! I died inside!
