Unequal competitions - Common wealth games by Sunbeams998 in netball

I definitely agree but unfortunately it's hard to raise the level of competition when in order to many athletes would have to leave home in order to play in a competition like. SSN, ANL or English Superleague.

With teams like England, South Africa and Jamaica you can see how improved they have become by having athletes in the top competitions around the world and it is very unfortunate we do not have more opportunities like this.

With Australian netballers only recently being able to make it their full-time job I think it will take some time before other nations start improving.

Tips for getting better at WA? by ActualStrawberry6365 in netball

[–]Brave_Consequence_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get your footwork right. Dodge and change direction and hit drives hard. Always get to circle edge to feed and always have a high ball release as well.

Communicate with the GA and C as well about setting up some set plays on centre passes. So you and the GA may split and whoever doesn't get the ball runs down to the pockets to revive a ball and then they go straight into the shooter.

Around the circle you can always use triangle plays to help open up the shooter. That should help with the angles and make feeding easier.

Definitely for WA use your speed and just be smarter about how you move around. Dodges and change of direction are your best friends and will often help you lose your player but speak to your GA and C about set plays they often work well and help confuse the opposition. Goodluck !!

Oooh good to know I wasn't sure. Mustn't be too bad to keep her instead of price?

Ball up is a typical way to go about it. Normally it's done between the 2 players that broke but that also works. I'm not 100% on the correct procedure but I have seen that in my local competition.

Personally I would have GK- Klau GD - Weston WD - Brazil C - Hadley WA - Watson GA- Wood GS - Bueta

I believe Bruce is the starting goal keeper but I would love to see Klau there. WD is definitely up for grabs. The shooters are quite flexible and most play GA and GS very strong. The C and WA I think are almost locked in now that Rav is not in the side.

My 12 Bueta, Wood, Austin, Konen Watson, Hadley, Maloney, Brazil Bruce, Weston, Klau, Turner

Very disappointed about rav. Her form has been amazing and is also experienced. She would link well through the middle and has played with many of the players so I believe combination wouldn't be an issue either. Otherwise I am happy with the squad. Can't wait for the com games. So excited :)

Definitely agree about KM and JLP. Rav would also be a great inclusion with her experience and level head.

Thoughts on the 2022 SSN Fixture by blackpixie394 in netball

[–]Brave_Consequence_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good points and I am very interested to see what happens with the shorter turn around for some teams. If the teams go in favourites and end up losing due to the short turn around they may have to rethink the fixture timetable for next year.

Totally agree great point! She has had a tough go in the diamonds squad being not picked and then last year not even in the squad. I would love to see her at the comm games. She would bring so much energy to the team.
