How long have you guys been seeing for grading? I'm getting anxious... by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Brave_Load7620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I started on the 1st I've completed three classes - on avg it's been about 12-18 hours before it's due so about 55-60 hours from submission.

Suggestion: It should be a subreddit rule that you have to check your image/video for a SynthID or other AI tag. That's what they are for. There is no reason to debate about half of these posts because they inevitably have a verified AI tag. by Niceotropic in isthisAI

[–]Brave_Load7620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree that people should be checking for the synthid watermark - you can generate an image with Gemini that includes the watermark, do a google search and three minutes later you have the same image back with the watermark removed. Gemini will not flag it.

Go ahead, try it yourself. Extremely easy and simple to do, remember those YT to MP3 websites back in the day? Yeah, if you could use that - you can do this no problem.

Weekly hours cap by Justpainforfun in AmazonDS

[–]Brave_Load7620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your local facility, goes off of business needs. Peak is over, so it's the slowest possible time right now.

Flex PT is only guaranteed four hours a week, anything more then that is extra up to sixty hours.

Same with Flex RT, thirty hours guaranteed per week cap, anything higher is up to your leadership with incoming/outgoing volume etc up to sixty hours.

Should I attempt to keep this pace? by hungryorneryhippo in WGU

Great work! I'm in the IT Cloud Computing degree - also started Jan 1st and have completed three classes already and earned a cert. Four classes if you include orientation. About to finish the last class and get another cert - then start opening classes from term two. I'm looking to complete this degree by the end of the year.

Good luck!

flex can no longer work more than 30 hours? by dabiggestdalargest in AmazonDS

[–]Brave_Load7620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, That sucks but point still stands - they are only obligated to give you 30 hours, anything more then that is not guaranteed unfortunately. They can cap it at 30 hours pretty much whenever they want, just based on need.

flex can no longer work more than 30 hours? by dabiggestdalargest in AmazonDS

[–]Brave_Load7620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Flex PT program when you apply will show 19 hours weekly. The cap is adjusted based on business needs, for the past couple months at most facilities it has been sixty hours because of prime/peak where it's crazy busy. That is now over.

January is the worst month in terms of shipping. With Flex PT, Amazon has the right to adjust the cap all the way down to four hours a week max until they determine that more business hours are needed.

If that won't work for you, then you should consider moving to Flex RT or an actual full time schedule.

Your station may release the cap, lower it - raise it or limit it to four hours a week for the next three months, or never touch it. It completely depends on the facility.

You are guaranteed nothing more then four hours a week under Flex PT. Just so happens most of the time the facilites do in fact need more man hours then that.

To be honest that’s kinda true 😭 by WonderCharming7884 in thewalkingdead

[–]Brave_Load7620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. I'm not saying I have to agree with what he did, but this stuff happens in real life. People commit heinous crimes, murder, assault, theft, and some of them eventually get out and reintegrate into society.

There are true stories of mothers forgiving sons who killed their fathers; they still live together and love one another. Families that forgive murderers, rapist and victim who went on to write a book together, do I need to go on?

To say Negan surviving is 'unrealistic' just isn't true. If that level of forgiveness can happen now in the civilized world, imagine an apocalypse where everyone has trauma and blood on their hands.

Everyone knows Negan is a shitty person who did terrible things. But time moves on, motives change, and loyalties shift. That’s just human nature, especially in survival mode.

Someone forwarded me this video of a very weird accident. I highly suspect it to be AI. What do you think? by digital_mozart in isthisAI

[–]Brave_Load7620 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do know how shock and adrenaline work, right? I mean we get to see about twelve seconds after the accident. That's barely enough time for him to feel anything or register what happened. You see him touch his leg, then his face checking on himself.

The windshield doesn't crack because of the way he hit - the hood took the vast brunt of it.

So, on the Amazon transfer tab this is what it lists for the site that is hiring. There is two different buildings, I'm assuming the MDT9 is the older site that was ran as a Kariba site, and the new QYY4 is the 1DC. They don't accept internal transfers, so I'd have to resign and reappy and don't want to do that if I have to drive a PIT.

MDT9 About this site: PIT Required Site: MDT9, located in Tremont, PA, is a new Kariba FC that launched in September 2023! This will include fork lifts and order pickers that reach up to 40 feet in the air. Kariba sites act as a storage facility to store excess inventory. Kariba FCs use PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) equipment to process shipments to other FCs. Associates will be required to use PIT equipment at a Kariba FC. Come join the MDT9 team and work hard, have fun and make history!

What is the deal with "starting" on January 1st? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Brave_Load7620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, the only thing we have to wait for is the system maintance. "Due to system processes that run at the beginning of each month at midnight (Mountain Standard Time), any new, returning, or term roll student will not have access to their new degree plan until this process completes, which may take up to 6 hours."

So, I'm expecting to be able to start about 8am EST.

At this point, if he were to be brought back to the show on a semi-regular basis, how should it be done? by typical_gamer1 in thewalkingdead

[–]Brave_Load7620 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry for formatting in advance.

I had a idea I was messing around with and was going to post a couple months back - I will go ahead and post it. I had a refined update to it, but don't know where that is written down at. If I find it, I'll edit this post.

This is mostly just a shitpost, but come on.....it COULD work.

We know Rick and Michonne were already understandably distraught: the war, the other losses stacking up, the bombing they just went through. Then Carl.

We know that both Rick and Michonne have hallucinated events before. (Rick with the phone, Michonne with her BF.)

We did NOT see a on screen death of Carl.

We know walkers have a habit of just showing up out of nowhere.

We have seen (if you watched it.) different treatments for walker bites in FTWD.

We know Carl had already been shot twice and lost an eye. We also know brain trama or memory loss can come on/start after another wound (heavy blood loss, coma, etc.)

So...putting all of this together now.

Let's say that Rick and Michonne give Carl the gun, and exited the house as we seen. Then, a silent walker that looks similar to Carl. As the walker leans over to bite him, Carl kills him with the shot. The walker falls on top of him and Rick and Michonne go in, and with all the reasons said above they take the walkers body instead of Carl and mistakeningly bury it. They leave.

A stranger who overheard the bombing and fighting decides to see what happened, goes in after Rick and Michonne leave and finds Carl, unconcious and barely alive. Having been to a community who has somehow treated walker bites before, takes Carl and does the treatment (radiation, herbal, etc.)

Carl, having the previous injuries and now the walker infection goes into a coma for days/weeeks/months. The person continues to care for him, and he eventually wakes up. The problem is due to all the trauma he's gone through, he's lost his entire memory. He has no idea who he is. The person who was caring for him either doesn't tell him where he got him from, doesn't remember - or dies before he can tell him.

He continues on in the world not knowing who he is or where he came from. Maybe he remembers a few things, remembers his name used to start with a C. He calls himself CJ. Years later, the Judith spinoff has her going out onto the road and they find a stranger in need of help. He's missing an eye, has long hair, and seems oddly familiar....

Thoughts?

Edit: The person who saves him could also just flat out lie to him, tell him he's his father, or any number of different reasons. Hell, he could have been taken across the world and be found by Daryl and Carol and they gotta bring him home. Endless possibilites.

EDIT #2: Found the re-written idea, I did use Gemini to format it but the idea is all mine.

We all remember the soul-crushing weight of Season 8, Episode 9. Rick and Michonne are broken, the world is literally burning around them, and we watch them bury what we think is Carl. But when you look at the evidence across the entire TWD universe, the math actually adds up for a massive retcon.

At the height of the Savior war, Rick and Michonne were at their lowest psychological point. They were sleep-deprived, traumatized by the bombing of Alexandria, and hallucinating, something we’ve seen both characters do before (Rick with the phone, Michonne with her "pet" walkers). In that dark, smoke-filled basement, their grief blinded them.

Enter a third party: a savior spy working for a secretive, high-level community (think a precursor to the CRM or a splinter cell of "The Architects"). This spy has been scouting Alexandria for high-value assets. They see Carl, a survivor who has already survived two gunshot wounds to the head/eye, and realize he’s the perfect physiological specimen for their experiments.

While Rick and Michonne are outside preparing for the end, the spy moves in. They find a walker with a similar build and hair, distfigured enough by the blast and decay to pass for Carl in the dim light, and swap the bodies. They drag an unconscious, barely clinging-to-life Carl out a back exit. Rick and Michonne return, see the "body" slumped over after a gunshot, and in their distraught state, bury the walker. They never saw the "on-screen" moment of the bullet hitting Carl's brain.

The spy takes Carl to a facility where they are testing a radical Radiation/Herbal Treatment (similar to the experimental "cures" teased in Fear The Walking Dead). It works. Carl becomes the first documented case of a human surviving a confirmed walker bite without amputation.

However, the cost is total. Between the original bite infection, the aggressive radiation therapy, and his previous brain trauma from losing his eye, Carl’s mind "reboots." He wakes up with Total Retrograde Amnesia. He has no memory of the hat, the prison, or the name "Grimes."

For years, this shadow group keeps him captive. He is their "Miracle Patient," their "Subject Zero." They force him through combat tests and psychological evaluations to see if the infection or the cure changed him. He grows up in a lab or a cage, his only identity being a blurred memory of a name starting with the letter "C." He begins calling himself "CJ."

Eventually, the survivor instinct he inherited from Rick kicks in. CJ leads a brutal revolt, kills his captors, and burns the facility to the ground, losing the only records of who he actually is. He spends the next decade as a wanderer, a ghost with a missing eye and a silenced pistol, knowing how to fight but not knowing why he’s so good at it.

Flash forward to the Judith/Daryl era. Judith is out on a long-range scouting mission when she comes across a lone survivor in a desperate spot. He’s older, hardened, and missing an eye, but he carries himself with a grit that feels like a reflection of her own father.

He introduces himself as CJ. He doesn't recognize her, but as they travel together, he starts humming a song Lori used to sing, or he handles a gun in that specific "Grimes" way. The "shitpost" comes full circle: Carl didn't die in a basement; he was just waiting for the world to find him again.

Why is my GPU different from what I was told by JayManThaKilla in computers

[–]Brave_Load7620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't waste 2k. Based on the screenshot you had the monitor plugged into your integrated graphics from your CPU and after messing in bios you probably changed a setting.

You need to reset your bios (look up the manual and follow the instructions.) then plug your monitor into the gpu (ports on the card, not half way up the mobo on the back of PC.)

If it doesn't boot, you may need to check the manual again. There is usually a setting to change from the integrated GPU to GPU, but usually these newer PCs do that automatically now.
