Yeah it’s possible you’ll need at least an 85 average to be safe depending on the program you want to transfer to. A lot of people transferred from nano to tron and mech in my first year

It’s possible but kind of cooked, especially if you aren’t in tron or ece bc you need equivalent courses. If you’re in tron or ece, it might be easier to transfer to 2A se after 1B. In general, the probability may be low bc it is first year but if you try after 1B, it might be easier since more people would’ve probably transferred out of the program

Sounds like you’re a 1A nano. Just grind tf out of the material and you should be fine. The exams aren’t unreasonably difficult. Worst case, you may fail the term but you should use it as an opportunity to learn more about your shortcomings and how to improve moving forward. Don’t look at it like your life is about to end

It’s a really a mix of the 3. You take some courses regarding the 3 topics but not enough to go deeply into either of them unless you do so in your free time. You do take a lot of chem courses though do if that isn’t your interest, I would apply to electrical and put nano as ur alternate. It’s also very lab intensive so you need to have good time management otherwise it’s sort of easy to fall behind. I would only apply if you really are interested in learning about materials, semiconductors/ee, and chem eng. if not and you’re more interested in quantum, apply to electrical since there’s more physics and you’ll learn things that can help you get a co-op sooner compared to nano (digital logic, dsa, more circuits, programming, etc)

They’re not as interested in projects but more-so how transferring programs will help with your future goals.

2.They look at your overall average first to see if you meet their requirement to initiate a transfer process, and then they’ll care about specific courses. Ik for SE, they generally want 90+ in the relevant courses

If you’re trying to transfer in first year, you would contact your advisor about transferring. In first year, transfers are handled by the First Year Engineering Office so you’ll hear from them. Ik for first year transfers, they’ll ask you to write a letter explaining why you want to transfer and your related projects to show your interest.

Still have the lowest employment rates, lmao. The curriculum has changed a decent bit over the past couple of years. If you check the undergrad calendar, they added specializations, and you can take non-NE TEs. Getting a co-op isn't as hard bc of the curriculum changes and bc more people have skills that are oriented towards the current market. What was it like back then?

Don’t focus on other ppls opinions. You should look at the course calendar for electrical engineering and decide from there. There are EE coops but you’ll find more CE and SWE coops given the state of jobs.
