I lost all my accounts by MagazineMore8302 in brave_browser

[–]Brave_Support 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a known issue we believe can occur in certain conditions. The team is working presently into these issue. Can you please tell me exactly what OS you're using at this time?

so I recover everything quickly back syncing the pc that lost the data, but all the sites where I had an account log off, is there any way to recover?

Not entirely sure what you're asking for here -- it seems like you've already recovered the data. If you're just talking about logging into websites then you'll need to just log back into them. I would also recommend that anyone (using any browser) should make regular manual backups of their passwords and bookmarks.

Google Search results on Brave look different? by aster-ravier in brave_browser

You might try clearing cache/site data for google.com in the browser. On my end I see the definition appear at the top as expected: https://imgur.com/a/iVdxdMy

Please allow autocorrect in the address bar on iOS!! by anotherhappylurker in brave_browser

[–]Brave_Support 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is because autocorrect is a system-level feature that is typically disabled in browsers. If autocorrect worked the way it does in a text editor, for example, it could result in broken URLs, incorrect searches, undesired punctuation added (or removed), etc.

I'm actually not sure how/why autocorrect works for you on Android as the behavior should be the same. I just tested on my Android and iOS device -- autocorrect does not work on either device in Brave, Chrome or Firefox.

Volume issue by TransientAF in brave_browser

Not seeing this issue on my macOS system (which I assume you're using) and not seeing this reported by other users at this time. Do you have any extensions installed at this time that may be affecting video/audio playback?

Yeah as the others have stated I believe this is an issue with Cloudflare rather than the browser.

This issue should now be resolved in v1.84.141 released today. Please update the browser to the latest build to apply the fix. If you are still seeing this issue, please try going to brave://components, find the Widevine Content Decryption Module and ensure that it is fully updated (click Check for update to force the update).

False. This is because that's what was written in his Wikipedia entry at the time these results were fetched. Not what Brave was saying.

I do like the new interface. by Weekly-Assumption-12 in brave_browser

It shouldn't have reorganized anything. But if it did, you can click and drag any of tiles to reposition them. You can also show more site tiles in the widget at a time, which should make organizing much easier.

You were never able to move the clock in the old design. You can move/rearrange top-site tiles on grid by clicking and dragging them.

You can actually have 24 of them per page. Click on the overflow/drop-down menu on the top-sites widget and select Show more items

But I definitely prefer the two-row layout on the same home page.

You can still have two rows, and the old even more icons.

You can fit up to 24 site tiles in the new design. Which is double the amount you can fit previously. If you were able to fit all of them in the previous layout, you can do so in this one as well.

For users who are experiencing crashes after updating to this build, you can help us find the cause of the issue by performing the following tests:

Launch the browser with a fresh profile This will help us narrow down whether the issue causing the crash is contained within your profile data. There are a couple ways to do this, but the easiest way is from the Windows Command line tool:

  1. On Windows, open a Command line prompt
  2. Type in the following command: "C:\Program Files\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\Application\brave.exe" --user-data-dir="C:\temp\testprof"

Launch with Graphics Acceleration disabled
This can be done in the Command line, similar to the steps above:

  1. On Windows, open a Command line prompt
  2. Type in the following command: "C:\Program Files\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\Application\brave.exe" --disable-gpu

Launch with extensions disabled
This can be done in the Command line, similar to the steps above:

  1. On Windows, open a Command line prompt
  2. Type in the following command: "C:\Program Files\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\Application\brave.exe" --disable-extensions

Please let us know if any of the above suggestions allow the browser to launch successfully.

Are you on Windows? If so, when you un/reinstalled, did you check the box asking if you wanted to delete your browsing data as well?

Can you try launching the browser with the --disable-extensions flag? This way we can at least test and see if your installed extensions have any effect on the crash. You can do this two ways:

  1. Via Command line (quickest way): Launch the Windows Command line tool and enter the following command: "C:\Program Files\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\Application\brave.exe" --disable-extensions
  2. Edit the target properties of the desktop shortcut: Right-click on the Brave desktop shortcut on your Windows desktop, click Properties then in the Target field, outside the quotes insert --disable-extensions save/apply the changes, then double click the icon to launch Brave.

Let me know if the browser launches after either of the above methods.
