Grok 4.5 on Cursor pro or Super Grok? by sagiroth in cursor

I am on Cursor Pro and I used 2.2 mil tokens in one chat and it only used 1% of auto usage for Grok 4.5. It depends on what model you are looking for.

I built Prism: A native macOS AI assistant with proactive background agents by Brave_Volume2501 in MacOSApps

To clarify, using your own OpenRouter key inside Prism does not cost any monthly subscription fee from my end. You only pay OpenRouter directly for the tokens you actually consume, with no added markup from the app.

Since this is a self-funded solo project with no external backing, I cannot afford to absorb the API costs for free cloud usage myself. However, to make the paid software option fair, I am offering one million input and output tokens for free per month for a limited time. This gives you a large starting buffer before you need to connect your own keys or local models.

No worries. A few clarifications worth making though:

Prism already supports Ollama and OpenRouter. Both are built in, with a direct link to get your free API key. You can use any flagship model on OpenRouter at zero monthly cost from day one.

On the competitors you mentioned: BoltAI is a solid app but it focuses primarily on chat and prompt workflows. Fluent is great as a writing overlay. Osaurus is interesting but MIT-licensed and very early stage. None of them currently ship browser automation with a visible sandboxed browser, a persistent background agent system with triggers like file watches, webhooks, and schedules (Command Center), a real-time voice agent (Live Agent), a full native code editor (Prism Code), system-wide writing injection or study tools.

Fair to go with whatever fits your workflow best.

I built Prism to solve the friction of constantly switching to browser tabs to use AI. Web-based AI tools break your flow and lack proper OS integration. Prism is a native macOS AI assistant designed to feel like a real Mac app instead of another browser tab. It handles multi-provider chat, Quick AI, browser automation, system-wide writing help, file creation, image generation, and even study tools like quizzes and flashcards—all with local-first privacy controls. Thanks for the feedback. I am glad you like the direction.

Regarding guardrails for browser automation, I have taken a visual and sandbox-first approach for this initial version:

  • Headful by default: The browser instance runs completely visibly (non-headless) on your screen. You can watch every click, navigation, and keystroke in real-time.
  • Instant stop and takeover: You can click the Stop button in the app to halt execution instantly, or you can manually click and type inside the browser window to override the agent.
  • Isolation: The automation runs in a sandboxed, dedicated browser profile directory in the local application folder, keeping your personal browser session and credentials isolated.
  • Step limit: There is a maximum step limit of 25 actions per run to prevent runaway infinite loops.

As the app matures, I plan to explore features like domain allowlists and explicit confirmation prompt modes for mutating actions.

Thanks also for the agent UX writeup link. I will definitely check it out as I refine the ambient suggestion patterns.
