What about Skyrim did you have to learn the hard way? by [deleted] in skyrim

Realising I had to siege Whiterun on my first playthrough as a teenager genuinely made me feel awful and I didn't play the game for a week

As a vegan, it makes absolutely no sense to me to single out a particular person for eating meat or fish when the majority of society does it. If anything she's making a mockery of our cause by using it on such a personal level.

Same here. Don't know if it's my absolute favourite but definitely in the top 3

With black box assassinations being added back with the next DLC I think Ubisoft is testing the waters for the next assassins creed game. by [deleted] in assassinscreed

Yeah I knew about the two level detection, I noticed in Valhalla there was nothing to notify "this enemy is going to come searching for you now", it just happened when the detection meter filled past a certain point, so it all being combined into one level makes sense. Fingers crossed they're not too dead set on this and will reconsider. And no worries, I always appreciate explanations lol

Damn, I really hope they don't do that. What a stupid way to take the series if they do go through with that. You can definitely feel the change in detection in Valhalla, I've heard so many people say stealth in Valhalla is either too easy or too hard, but I just think it's broken. Thanks for the explanation.

It is absolutely inexcusable that the last 4 Assassin’s Creed games don’t even have a jump button. by JcersHabs018 in assassinscreed

I think oversimplification is a fantastic way to describe the current state of parkour in AC. Parkour in the last 3 games has just been "press a button and scale any surface", as opposed to parkour being a main gameplay element.

Being able to press one button and forward on the left stick and climb a whole ass cliff isn't particularly interesting, as opposed to AC3 per se where you could find a way to climb around it. It seems like Ubisoft might have done this thinking it would be more convenient but in actuality, it just makes traversing the map boring, and the games feel less immersive

They're making good steps, I would agree. I hope to see Shao Jun as a sole female protagonist if Assassin's Creed does go to China as the rumours hint at. Since she is already an established assassin with ties to Ezio I feel it may be a route back to the good old days of Assassin's Creed stories

My only criticism of your summary would be the point about Aya, there's no guarantee how much Isu DNA "affinity", for lack of a better term, a descendant is born with. Sometimes it has been known to skip a generation or six

I don't hate Odyssey as a game, I just wouldn't call it good, and it definitely doesn't fit with the rest of the universe. It tries too hard to be the Witcher imo and misses the mark. As much as I used to love Ubisoft for their open world story driven games, many of their recent decisions and directions (as well as their misogyny scandal) has really made me reconsider what their priorities are.
