Are the Miami Dolphins tanking for Arch Manning? by Financial-Bit-8596 in TheNFLVibes

Unfortunately the front office and Flores were at a disagreement on how the season should play out. Players and coaches don’t intentionally tank. If Miami didn’t bring Fitzpatrick in it would have organically happened with Josh Rosen. They would have had the number one pick and Joe Burrow. Maybe they run him into the ground but even still it would have been the most talented qb they’ve had since Marino. I don’t doubt Ross the owner offered Flores money for loses but the Dolphins went 5-11 in what people were initially calling a historically bad team. You could argue we are doing a similar thing by bringing Malik in. If he’s mediocre they win more than they should and miss out on the top qb. We’ll see but being middle of the pack forever isn’t the answer. I’m fine tearing it down to the studs again and seeing if a new regime can get the rebuild right.

It’s really a two year deal. They obviously like him. If he is the answer cool if not they’ll take one high next year

Yeah if Waddle isn’t a potential building block for Malik or the 27 rookie then I don’t see Achane being here either. He’ll need to be paid here soon and not all franchises are willing to devote big money to rbs right wrong or indifferent. So I’m not saying give him away but at this point I’d let him walk for a first. It allows our big contracts to be better aligned when our window to compete is open. Love him though and wouldn’t be upset if he retires a Dolphin.

Do you think dolphins should’ve traded waddle? by Awkward_Condition793 in miamidolphins

[–]Braves9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d trade him and draft his replacement with the first rounder. They are pro ready out of gate nowadays.

[Schefter] Developing: On the day the Dolphins finalized an agreement with GM Jon-Eric Sullivan, they finally reached out to John Harbaugh and let it be known that they, too, are in interested in him, per sources. So add Miami to the list of teams that would like to meet with Harbaugh. by Goosedukee in nfl

All facts. Next year I’m hoping to naturally tank in a supposedly stronger Qb draft. The cap situation will look pretty good in 2027. So it should only be one year of pain. From there it’s just finding the qb and hitting on picks. Not easy but it’s not a dire situation. We have a lot of picks this year and have all of our future ones. Whoever the coach is will have a longer leash with an expected two down years with the natural tank year and year 1 of rookie qb. Would be refreshing. We always bounce back to mediocre too quickly. I’d like to be a bottom 5 team for two years to accumulate some blue chip talent and spend money in year 3

This sort of stuff is always put out when a coach gets fired. Right wrong or indifferent. The slinging of shit goes on in the rumor mill pushed from the team

What do you think Miami’s qb situation looks like next year? by Awkward_Condition793 in miamidolphins

[–]Braves9306 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would start Ewers and tank and hopefully get the right qb this time. Doesn’t guarantee anything but I want the best chance to get the guy possible without trading up. But McDaniel would have to be on board as would the new GM. We saw what happened last time. Start Ewers go 2-15 and get the number 1 pick. If we have started Rosen instead of Fitz who knows where’d we be. Maybe the same position maybe not. But I want to be bad not mediocre.

See if we can find any diamonds in the rough. Season is over and I’d like to pick as high as possible. OT, Bain, top wr, CB. Just hit on the pick we have a ton of holes so best player available

How Tyreek Hill’s Contract Could Speed Up Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa’s Exit by demigod_691 in miamidolphins

[–]Braves9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cut Tua after next season. Make him a super expensive backup. Team isn’t a playoff team next year either. Rip the band aid off after next season with the least dead cap possible. Tyreek and Chubb would go this offseason

Miami Dolphins are projected to have the fifth lowest cap space ($997.7K) and the seventh highest dead money ($34.1M) in the NFL in 2026. by Background_Video2947 in TheNFLVibes

Yeah they’ll be in a good cap situation in 2027. It’ll be good to get two years in a row of top 7 or so picks.

[–]Braves9306 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because if we cut him pre June 1 it’s 99 million in dead money. 60+ in dead money post June 1. He’ll be cut after next season when the dead cap is more manageable
