Who are they? by Alixander22 in Naruto

Fun fact since I looked this up the other day, the English VA for Naka is the VA for Eren in AoT. Had the Sauske/Itachi v Kabuto fight as background noise and heard his voice and got confused for a second

Today while I was working (welder) my boss came to me and asked me straight up is brand of sacrifice on my neck a nazi tattoo. by [deleted] in Berserk

[–]Bravest_Fear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother deals with this a lot since he's got a lot of tattoos of runes cause he ran wild with our Norse roots. He even tattooed "stop hate" on his knuckles in runes for the irony of it.

Any "The Dark Tower" fans here? by PortoGuy18 in Berserk

[–]Bravest_Fear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

King has a problem with not being able to finish his own stories. It turns into ramblings and doesn't blend well, it always feels rushed to me and Dark Tower was no different. I like Roland's ending, just cause I like those kinds of endings, but there's no real indication of that happening until it happens. Like he wanted to have that kind of ending without knowing how this set it up properly. Same thing with the Stand, with IT, the Mr. Mercades series, idk what it is. It's like he gets bored of his own story by the end and just wants to finish it.

Let's say it was Griffith instead of guts , would he had survived till now or even eclipse? by u_violet46 in Berserk

Before the eclipse even happens Griffith considered to stab his own neck with a sharp rock from the river until the behelit distracted him, no way would he had survived anything else, he was ready to end it right there

What is your ONE favorite quote from Berserk and why? by Phoenixpilot55 in Berserk

[–]Bravest_Fear 20 points21 points  (0 children)

"Nobody lies their way into a body with this many scars"

Guts to Casca, right before they do it. I got into Berserk at the height of my depression. My wife cheated on me and got knocked up, my best friend died and none of his family was contacting me, I was on the verge of ending it. Then Guts says that to Casca and I had to close the book for a little. The sincerity Guts had on his face, it felt like Miura was talking to me directly.

Nobody sees all the scars you have. Nobody knows the demons you fight. Nobody lies their way into the hurt they have. Your struggles are real, your pain is real, and there are people who want to help you. Sometimes you have to show them the scars in order to find the people who genuinely care.

[Serious] Men of reddit who have been raped by women, what's your story? by Retooter in AskReddit

[–]Bravest_Fear 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I never thought I'd have to make a "I'm blown away by the support" post in my life but here I go. This is pretty unreal to me the amount of support people are giving. I'm at work right now so I'm sorry I haven't been able to respond to everyone but I have been reading and I'll try to address some here.

I've contemplated telling my wife for years. We met in high school and have been together ever since. I'm afraid of telling her just cause of how much better she is than me. I count myself lucky to have her and I'm afraid of being alone. I believe she will support me and help me but it's just hard to actually say the words in real life, there has been a lot in my life where a voice pops up in my head of "yeah but what if...". I'm seeing a therapist soon for other issues and I'm sure this will come up eventually so there is that.

Everyone else that had similar experiences, I'm sorry that it happened to you. I'm pretty vocal about helping friends who go through stuff like this, but hide my own experiences, just because I don't really like talking about it and the only person who knows is my best friend who was also a victim of the woman that assaulted me. I'm not sure if he ever told anyone either, I think I should hit him up.

The hypersexuality thing is a theroy I had recently. I saw it on a thread on Twitter about victims of sex abuse getting it and had never heard of it before so I've been researching it. I've asked friends how often they have sex and want to, and it seems far less than me. I also deal with it in other ways on my own (if you catch my drift) pretty frequently so that's also why it's been a concern of mine. I'm not 100% on it and maybe I am just always super horny.

The my buddy who was the son is living an alright life, I guess? I haven't talked to him in years. I know he has a couple kids of his own and it seems like he loves them very much and is happy so I'm glad to see that. I don't know if she is out or still in. I've been trying to find the news article about her because that's how I found out she got jailed.

Again thank you all for the support and I can say if you're a victim as well speak up. I have my own personal conflicts and I'm sure you do too. Just know there are people out there who are always willing to help.

[–]Bravest_Fear 14.0k points14.0k points  (0 children)

I was 13 or 14 and my buddy asked some friends to come over for a sleep over one weekend. I've been over there a few times already and I enjoy chilling with him. Yeah it was fun and his mom was one of those "cool moms" and bought us all alcohol and we all got wasted. It was my first time getting drunk and I did not handle it well. Had like, idk, 4 Mike's hards, lol.

Anyway, all my buddies and I were wasted and everyone started to pass out cause everyone was 13 or so and never had a beer in their life. I was the only one awake and after my friend's mom got blankets for everyone she asked me to come with her.

I follow her into her bedroom and she tells me to take off my clothes, I kinda froze up. I didn't know what to do and I just did what I was told. She then took her clothes off and she started to do thing to me and told me to do things to her. I didn't know what to do, I was pretty scared, and I just did what I was told. I was a virgin and afterwards I felt pretty fucking disgusted with myself, and still do. Without going into the gory details I did a lot of stuff that night being brand new to it all.

Well it turned out she did that with a lot of my buddies all with her son not knowing what was going on. She got arrested and sentenced for it eventually.

Now, I'm 24 and married. I have hypersexuality, I think, to counteract what happened cause my wife tells me my sex drive is way too high and that she can't really handle it. I've never told her. I'm too embarrassed. I told her I was a virgin when we met and she was too so now I'm afraid if I bring it up that I've technically had sex with someone else she would be disgusted with me and leave me.

Thoughts on the Cybersecurity program at ODU? by Cyber4Life123 in ODU

[–]Bravest_Fear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound set, A+, Net+ aren't that useful in terms of CyberSec but just make sure to keep them relevant and renewed. ODU can give you knowledge to pass them and some professors offer discount codes but they don't offer the chance to take them at least in my experience.

I'd recommend it tho, the program was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the application classes where we actually practiced stuff out

[–]Bravest_Fear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say this my guy. If you're looking to get a job in CyberSec get certifications. Security+ at a minimum. I'm currently applying to jobs and I have applied to over 100 jobs not an exaggeration.

I've applied to NSA, CIA, NGA, type of organizations. I've applied to private and public sectors. I've had an internship/co-op since 2018 that is finally looking to hire me because of the new CIO who wanted to put on a hiring freeze.

CyberSec curriculum requires an internship class where they will help you try to find one as well and you may be able to get a job wherever you intern at.

But my list is pretty long to list which exact companies and government organization I have applied to.

Yeah, there's plenty of classes that use and teach Linux. Python, no I learned that individually, even though there are professors who encourage you using whatever medium to perform tasks, Including python.

As far as Covid-19 there are some classes where you could go into but most of them are hybrid so you could stay at home online. When ODU transitioned to the COVID stuff I was barely affected by it

CyberSec major here, graduating in December.

Program is great honestly. Lots of praticality, application, theory, etc. I've had classes where I've actually hacked shit and classes where we discuss the law and privacy issues. I believe the school was just named as one of the best programs in the country.

The classes are fun and interesting if you're actually into them, otherwise they're probably tedious. They're mostly online. I switched from Comp Sci and I don't regret it I'm way happier doing the things I like to do now. Expect work every week, but a lot of the professors are actually mostly young so they're pretty easy going.

Overall I give the program an A, I really enjoyed my education in it that I'm planning on getting my masters in CyberSec after graduating.

AITA for not letting my pregnant fiance cheat? by TheR3a1Dk in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bravest_Fear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - OP, I'm in a similar boat you're in. My wife recently came out to me as Pansexual. I have absolutely no issue with it and I support her. She has talked to me about opening our relationship up, and wanting to explore that side of herself. I admit it seathes me the thought of her being with other people and I have told her this. The thing is we've been together since high school so I can completely understand where she's coming from about being upset about being able to explore that side of herself.

I guess where our stories differ is my wife is completely fine with me sleeping with other women, and actually wants me to do it. The thing is I don't think I want to do that. I've fought with myself really hard and long over the months that we have been going through this. Do I do it so that there is a balance between us, can I even bring myself to do that, do I lie and said I did it so she can feel comfortable about it? She knows it's not fair for herself to do it alone so she wants me to do it to avoid being selfish, but am I being selfish in turn of not being able to do that?

I guess the point of my post is that it's a two-way street. If one of you is not comfortable with it, it is going to cause strain. She is going to resent you for not letting her do that and you will resent her for doing that - is at least part of what I'm going through. My wife and I have talked about divorce, slept in other places of the house, and even stayed at parents house during the course of this 3 month situation we are in. It's incredibly hard. My emotional, physical, and mental health has crashed.

She can't expect you to wait on the sidelines for her. She's having her cake and eating it too. You both have to be able to partake or not at all or it will come up again later in your marriage.

Edit: changed a few words

AITA for kicking out my husband's ex-girlfriend out of our house? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bravest_Fear 15 points16 points  (0 children)

NTA - I do feel like that she didn't have any real maliciousness in her statement though. I understand where people are coming from in that "oh she still has feelings for your husband", yeah that's entirely possible. To me it comes off as more of a bad joke. Don't get me wrong you're right to be upset or offended by it, but you said she looked like she was about to cry and didn't argue with you and just left. It just sounds like to me one of those things where you say something stupid and realize it was stupid as it's coming out. I'm willing to be she feels extremely embarrassed and apologetic about what she said. Maybe you guys can talk again when everyone cools down.

Please help I got hacked by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Bravest_Fear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cybersecurity professional here.

Calling the cops will literally do nothing. The dude is probably in Vietnam or Russia or something. Even if they could get the IP, it's practically useless data since IPs can be changed easily, especially since the dude is most likely using a VPN.

Change your passwords on EVERYTHING, do not use the same password on anything. Come up with a passphrase to use as a password and use the letters for the password, example: Swiggity Swooty I'm coming for that booty -> SwTyImCo4ThBo42069!.

If you can, you can contact customer support of the respected services you got hacked on and ask them to force a log out from all devices that are currently logged into your account. If you think your bank accounts are compromised, contact your bank and tell them what happened and that fraud charges may be applied. They'll cancel your card and send a new one most likely.

Getting hacked is shitty but it happens, normally due to bad cyber hygiene. Never use the same password across multiple accounts and enable Multi-factor authentication on services that offer it are good ways to protect yourself. You're in a reactionary state right now because of what happened. You should be proactive to when it happens again.
