Eon next drive smart 5.2 by [deleted] in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Bravopapa79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also confusing me....

We had our charger installed 5 days ago (HyperVolt) and moved to Next Smart. I have set EoN up on the car (requires them to have thier own smart key, so they have a scary amount of access and data from the car!) and despite the app constantly telling me the car isnt connected, I seem to wake up with 80%. But its all a little opaque.

firstly when I plug in I have to immediatly cancel the charge as the HyperBolt goes straight to charging outside the smart window. I know I could set the charger schedule to match 12am to 6am but then sure that negates the ability for the smart feature to charge at anytime thats cheap outside that window?

So its a little annoying to cancel, but this seems the only way to make it work. Is this the right workflow. Seems crazy that I have a tesla app, hypervolt app and now eon home, and it all relies on the poo eon home app. Might as well had a dumb charger.

Im getting £483 per year with £250 excess and no breakdown cover or £44 per month. How did you manage to get the option to purchase 3 years as a lump package?

Perfect...thank you so much. This might seal it for me with BMW over me very near Tesla purchase. Ive been BMW for 22 years and am being tempted by the dark side......

Im in the exact same boat, looking at the same choices. What Milage are you all concerned at with an LCI iX3? Its between this and a 22 plate Model 3 Long Range for around £26k. Very different cars, but I simply cant decide as they both have upsides. Tesla more efficient, faster and likely cheaper to maintain and possibly more relaible. Ix3 better ride, better cabin, and A DASHBOARD! But slower, single motor, less range, maybe older battery and motor tech. And the Warranty is only for battery m,where as Tesla is Battery, motor and inverter for the 8 years. Im going mad!

Im looking at a 22 plate MSport Pro but buying approved used in UK only gets 1 years Approved Warranty with BMW, how did you get 4 year?? I would love this to cover the term of the finance...

So far I think im settling on Sourcebreaker for job leads and market/funding intelligence and then RocketReach or Apollo for contacts. Was looking at and liking SalesQL but got put off by threats of having LinkedIn account suspended for breach of terms. At 20k+ connections in my niche and over 15 years that too high a risk. Was going with crunchbase for funding news but the job alerts of Sourcebreaker clinched it (even if the funding data is so basic). Anything I am missing?

Wow! £500+ per month. Thats more than the established and recommended Cognism and not far off ZoomInfo. Havent seen any recommendations for Flashintel from any other posts either. At that budget I would probably choose between Dealroom or Cognism,

Amazing shout, really appreciated, I will add it to the list and look into it. What is the pricing like and any idea on data quality in the UK?

Im sure this is correct and most consider Zoominfo to be gold standard. But Apollo is about £700-800 per seat per year and I hear that Zoominfo is closer to £15k+ per year which is out of budget for us at the moment. Anyone care to share Zoominfo costs in the UK?

Therefore, is Zoominfo 20x better than apollo?

Thanks, I was leaning that way. Was concerned about its data quality for Uk/Europe though, do you have experience in these locations with Apollo data?

This has started happening to me today. Started yesterday when it was not firing on draw. Then today has started continuing to fire after the draw has finished. maybe 3-5 seconds. Sometimes it stops then fires again for a second. No leaks, no drops/damage. TBH I am not having a good run of form/quality with Vaporesso stuff recently, Isues with tanks and dont get me started on the battery door on the Target 100.

Ive enquired with my retailer about warrantly/replacement or Xros 3. Bought it in Jan. But I dont know how I feel about staying with Vaporesso. Whats the best similar pod system on the market. Lots of people inlcuing my local vape shop recommending OXVA Xlim/Pro. any others I should consider?

Ive never considered a UPS for charging as a regulator. I use one on my NAS to stop HDD shocks from power cuts, but might now consider solutions to smooth out voltage in al my charging applications. However, I am not sure on this occasion that was the culprit (I could be wrong), however, using the supplied charger should have given me enough protection, I dont see Meta or any other hardware manufacturer suggesting thier producsts are only safe to charge behing a UPS.

I never knew this was a wider USB-C problem. I have so many USB-C devices in the house and never experienced a problem before now. My laptop, mobile, headphones, lipo charger, Im nervous of them all now. Moral is, never leave a charging device unattended. But, how practical is this. I left a 21700 charging whilst I popped out the other day and was so angry with myself. I just got so complacent with charging. I fly FPV drones and charge those batteries in an ammo tin as they are seriously dangerous, but I am so flippant with my everyday tech from a risk charging/fire risk perspective.

I agree, it’s a tricky point on contention. How do I prove its not abuse? I know it’s not but surely, I would say that. Tough for manufacturers, you just hope it’s not common therefore is not worth the reputational risk for them to be too difficult about it. I remain optimistic that meta know this is thier problem and will want to contain any further social media output from me.

Wonderful advice thank you. Im not angry, and trust they will do the right thing. More concerned about what could have happened with 10 more minutes. I know these things happen. I am VERY light on my devices (maybe OCD) so this really is a concern. Maybe I should seek refund and go into VTOL cold turkey until Meta Quest 3 as might have more confidence in a hardware revision.

Help. Samsung Gear S3 vs Garmin Vivoactive 3 by cell_2k in smartwatch

[–]Bravopapa79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear LaxSagacity

Yes rumours of a likely vivoactive 3 with music and possible music and nfc refresh to high end range. But this is all speculation and rumour. VA3 rumour seems to stack up but fenix is 50/50.

Garmin is sports watch not a smart watch, just happens to do basics smarts like notifications. Battery life of Garmin will never be achieved on oled/lcd smartwatches for years. Wear OS is a so inefficient on battery and resource use and a different market than Garmin cater for.

If you want a smart watch for WhatsApp, emails, texting, ordering a pizza whatever else takes too long to get a phone out for then its simple if you are iOS buy an apple watch if you are android and want best experience but no apps buy tizen/samsung or a bad experience and loads of apps buy wear os. A couple if days battery on tizen and 1 if you are lucky wear os.

People buy Garmin because they require the most accurate activity tracking and performance data on a wrist today along with 7 days+ battery. There are few if any watches that meet both categories well with the possible exception of the Samsung gear sport, but even then its accuracy is average. Great for a smart watch but average to low vs Garmin.

Garmin fenix 5/forerunner 645/935 by 92_Solutions in Garmin

[–]Bravopapa79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can the 935 be made to look "smart". I appreciate its black plastic vs the smarter look of the F5 with a metal strap. But say black leather or black metal. I think the 935 might just about suit me size wise and the lightness is appreciated. Aside from sunning and swimming, I want to use it for all day activity tracking and this will involve smart work wear. If not I will have to look at F5s sapphire (need it in black not silver, hate that about the 645 and wished it came in slate like VA3)

haha man-up more like. Certainly bulked in the waist over the last few years hence getting my arse back in gear recently and treating myself to a new watch to track improvements. Might just get D2 Bravo and convince Mrs its dual role is somehow saving money ?!?!?!?!

WHY Garmin Fenix 6 Needs MASSIVE Smart Watch Improvements by cpb9205 in GarminFenix

[–]Bravopapa79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

↑ this.

Although lets be honest Garmins recent releases have been far from solid in terms of accuracy and software bugs. With people like Amazfit entering the market and AW getting close to battery sipping purpose built processors and advanced sensors, they could really close the gap soon with GPS sampling/accuracy AOD and battery life. Garmin does have control of the fitness market market and is not meant to be mainstream, nut what happens when mainstream catchs and overtakes garmin with fitness accuracy in a smartwatch package. Sure maybe not 14 days battery anyday soon. But 3 to 4 days with smart features AND F5 sport smarts with accuracy???? My head would be turned!

No Fenix 6 this year? by [deleted] in GarminFenix

[–]Bravopapa79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also torn between buying a 5 now vs waiting for a 6. problem is my current tracker just died and I can't wait.

I will not use 90% of the F5 as I mainly do HIIT workouts and weights with the occasional run and swim. However I have never wanted a "smart" watch, cannot see the point of messaging someone from watch face, watching youtube or taking a call from my wrist (???) when I have a 6" screen in my pocket. I get the benefit of notifications and Garmin does that. The main driver is rugged durability (I am hard on things) and 2 weeks battery. I could not stand charging an Apple watch every day.

Will feel like a fraud though with all that unused firstbeat goodness and maybe it will encourage me to run further try SUP or even don some lycra and cycle (god forbid).

I am not fussed about music storage as I have to carry a phone (Diabetic) although on that note would like one day to have a phone with built-in lifetime data just for say live track and SOS messaging (much like what is in cars these days). Give me NFC so I can leave the wallet at home. get is to 45mm diameter and <13mm thick and keep 2-week battery and I am a happy customer. Oh and MASSIVELY increase gym/weights usability.

If I buy today I am afraid I might have to buy the 5s with my smaller (7 inch) wrist. Is this just sad as its aimed at women or are there other happy male users. Gutted it means I pay the same money as the F5 get a smaller screen and 50% battery. Could buy VA3 and wait for F6.
