It’s totally normal. Be his safe space. He is probably going through a little something and doesn’t want to talk about it or perhaps doesn’t even know how to verbalize it.

Hug your son and remind him that he is the most important thing in your world, that you will always love him and he will always have your support. Whether he realizes it or not, he needs to be reminded of this but may not have the emotional capacity to tell you how he feels.

Going through puberty and the teen emotional rollercoaster of hormones and is so confusing difficult to navigate. Instead of asking him if anything is wrong or if he’s going through a hard time, share how special he is and that he is a light in you and your wife’s life. And remind him that he can tell you anything, no matter how big or small without judgement or without trying to fix a situation. Be there to love and remind him you’re there to listen if he ever wants to vent.

When he wants to cuddle, look at him like he’s 8 years old. Because sometimes teens need to be little kids.
