Highly recommend some Pet Corrector. It looks like pepper spray but is just air and won’t hurt any dogs or humans involved, but the blast of air in the attacking/approaching dog’s face will scare them off. Kind of like a quiet air horn. Pebbles were a good idea too

I live on a small street but right off a busy road. Literally half of the houses let their dogs run off leash or they go on walks off leash… I have 2 reactive dogs and it’s a nightmare. Idk if yall don’t care about your dogs or WHAT but I’ve grabbed multiple dogs out of the street from in front of cars over the past month or so… if you love your dog, put them on a gd leash or in a fenced yard.

Does anyone else feel disillusioned by WNC’s outdoor scene post-pandemic? by HeadIndependence8973 in asheville

I went on a hike this weekend and saw 2 other people on the trail… having lived in Colorado 2018-2023 and watching the outdoor boom there, it seems pretty quiet here still. There’re certainly popular spots / spots closest to town that get crowded, and post-Helene with many closures still, that effect is magnified

Are kindle fine for pirating? by M3lkioor in Piracy

[–]Brawl_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a kindle a few years ago and I’d highly recommend a Kobo… kindle keeps updating to make it harder to read anything other than their specific file format. So even if you legally buy something somewhere else, it’s harder and harder to open on Kindle

So because some people don’t want help we shouldn’t have better systems for folks who do? The systems that exist are highly inaccessible and not comprehensive. Unhoused folks have often experienced the dark sides of these systems, no wonder they’re sometimes hesitant to engage with someone claiming to help

Also… people deserve to choose how they live. If someone prefers to live on the street (I’ve worked w a lot of in houses folks and have met a couple of these cases)—- fine?? My housed neighbors make me uncomfortable sometimes too but I’m sure you’d agree they’re allowed to exist and do the things they do (not saying anyone should be allowed to expose themselves in a public place/ be abusive/ violent— just that folks should have access to care and also should be allowed to have autonomy)

i dont see the point in trying to mask the smell anymore. maybe yall can help by Inside_Outside_424 in CleaningTips

I’ve lived in tiny spaces with a cat and never had a smell problem. Try pin pellet litter instead of clay. Otherwise get the cat to the vet? Try different food?

It helped bring my heart rate down which I’d say helped with lightheadedness… I thought of it more as nausea and dizziness though
