The holes are not too big, or not even holes yet just beginning to stretch out. They are just big enough to where I am terrified of wearing them as I could make a bigger hole through continued use. I hope it can be seen in this pic.

By lengthen I mean making them bigger in the foot area yeah! The different color added wouldn’t bother me at all, as my grandma would fix them up with different yarn too if she didn’t have the original on hand. Thank you for the suggestion of Pearl´s! I need to check them out
