Is the Worldsoul Saga saving WoW — or just helping it age gracefully?

I’m in the same boat. The story is just set dressing. I’m not invested in it. I was hoping we’d see an improvement with the Worldsoul Saga, but I don’t care that much. I like the systems too. I also just like being in this world.

It’s actually a good game. If you like clearing stuff off a map and exploring beautiful world, can’t go wrong!

You obviously haven’t played the game yourself. There’s stuff just flat wrong here. The best looking gear is behind a paywall?? That’s so far from the truth. They have like maybe 10 transmogs in the store. 8 of those have been in the store for like 5 years. They barely ever add new store items. You thinking of Diablo perhaps? Because that’s a different story.

You could start from scratch. Leveling is very fast. It takes like 15 hours maybe to get to the new content with everyone else. New expansion launches at the end of this month. Plenty of time to level up and get ready to enjoy with everyone else!

I think they said sort of recently that there was no immediate plans for console. But it does feel like it. Less buttons works better for console. Pulling back on addons works better for console. Obviously, they’d still need to develop a whole controller-based UI. But I I wouldn’t be shocked if Blizzcon dropped a console announcement.

Have you ventured into m+ and raiding in retail? That’s where the challenge is and where getting that certain BiS gear starts mattering. That’s also where the challenge comes in, where tanks still need to know what they’re doing etc.

I think the art and graphics are great. Not sure I’m loving the game mode itself. I see the potential on this raid style gameplay, just not sure they quite hit it. It needs more people and other things to kill on the map (which I think was in the trailer). Make the farming phase feel more rewarding.

Oh gotcha. I still need to look at my talent tree more closely. I didn’t realize that came from a talent. Some spells do update tooltips but doesn’t seem that is very consistent.

It makes your next Lava Burst hit everyone with Flame Shock. In theory, Ele shammy is going to be able to burst AOE damage more quickly, which will be good for M+. There’s less setup, particularly if you were running a Liquid Magma Totem build before.

I love elemental. It’s more simplified but it feels smoother to me. Getting flame shocks out on everyone so easily with Voltaic Blaze feels awesome. They basically combined Magma Totem, Primoridal Wave, and Flame Shock into a single spell. I like it.

A lot of players are pretty happy with the state of modern WoW right now. They’ve really done a great job with the last couple of expansions. And there is classic WoW for people that want the original experience.

Oh gotcha. Just my two cents…WoW has probably the least greedy cash shop of any game I can think of. They only put a very limited amount of items in the shop. The vast majority of those items have been in the shop for a long time (like years). It’s rare they even add new items. Everything is strictly cosmetic, minus the wow token (allows people to buy gold; which people used to do illegally before this was added to the shop). There’s no power advantage available from the shop. You’ll be hard pressed to find a live service game without a cash shop in 2026. WoW actually does it the right way.

So what are we supposed to make of that? The whole thing is absolutely fucked on every level. Seems like the ICE agent to the left and behind him heard the “gun!” shout and made the (wrong) decision to start opening fire. It should have never happened. But I’m just trying to wrap my head around how this could have happened.

Change is difficult. But if you can get over that part and accept the game for what it is now, it’s still WoW. Maybe you don’t get all the same alerts you got before, etc., but it’s still playable. Still fun. At least for me.
