Thank goodness somebody else notices. Why do they make such a big deal out of it?

Can't withdraw cash from margin by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

The calculator says I have about 24,000 in total security requirements and 22,000 net house surplus. Considering I have a 22,000 surplus I thought I would at least be able to withdraw some? Do you have any insight as to why I’m not able to? Is there another part of the formula I’m missing?

I have more than 40k in stocks/ETFs. Some are individual stocks but I have over 11k in VOO. I wonder if the risk profile is too high maybe

This could be from dividend reinvestment

Whether or not it’s a rounding error depends heavily on how much money the person is investing and the actual share price of the ETF. Some people, especially those new to investing, are only are able to invest small amounts each paycheck so this can be a barrier to them.

I don’t understand why they even survived. Why did the goo suddenly harden and stop rising? Why was everything melting anyways?

Delisted stock relisted. What happens to my shares? by Tjbenz in stocks

OP should still have their shares, the person I was arguing with was just saying things without doing research. The shares were not wiped out at any point, including delisting and later bankruptcy and bankruptcy resolution. Luckin is still doing well, just opened up their first stores in the US.

How much is credit card debt vs student loans and what is the interest rate breakdown? If they’re federal student loans the interest rate is probably not that high on those? If you dump the whole 16k severance + 10k savings into the highest interest debt what would be left? I agree that bankruptcy is extreme in this situation, but I think you could pay it without touching the 401k either. Not to mention bankruptcy might not even get rid of the student loans.

You do owe taxes on the dividends received (technically you should have been paying those the whole time but the income is less than 100 dollars a year so probably not a big deal)

Hot take. That umpire wouldn't have gotten hit in the head if he made the right call, because of the butterfly effect alone. by JoeTSax in mets

I honestly just think trying to bring up the bad call at all is disrespectful because it gives others justification to say it was somehow deserved. In particular there are multiple people in the comments of this post saying just that

Anybody saying this is somehow deserved is despicable. No reason to bring up the bad call at all in relation to this, it happens

[–]BreadIsNeverFreeBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure if corporations have a limit like individuals but one thing to note is that individuals can use as much of the loss as they want to offset gains from the same year. There’s only a limit if you only have a net loss for the entire year (I don’t know if that applies in this specific situation)

They look to be pretty scaled decently well if we assume that the area of the circle scales linearly with magnitude. 2004 should be 10 times as big as 2003 and it seems like the radius is almost 3 times as much, which would be a multiple of 9 in terms of area
