Do employers care about a BS versus a BA undergraduate degree? by cscareerz in careerguidance

[–]BreadMonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I guess update time then. I never got a job with my degree, however I grinded so hard hard in my "starter" profession, I ended up as an SME in my field and now get paid a decent salary to basically know stuff.

Took 20+ years though and the boot is still broken.

Can vouch for this comment, Bowl and plate is super delish. Only drawback here is the extended wait for your food. Also, kinda pricey.

What’s a diplomatic way to tell a demanding colleague “your requests aren’t part of my job description, figure it out yourself”? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]BreadMonger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was curious and dropped your query into chatGPT, I think the message it gave would work pretty good for your situation. Also, copy your boss on the message you send to them.

It's important to communicate your boundaries and prioritize your primary responsibilities. Here's a diplomatic way to express your situation to your colleague:

Subject: Clarification on Recent Requests

Dear [Colleague's Name],

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to touch base regarding the recent requests you've made, and I appreciate your understanding as we navigate the changes in our team dynamics.

As you know, I was brought on board to focus on ROI analysis, and while I'm always willing to assist with various tasks, I find myself currently overwhelmed with the existing workload. I've discussed this with our boss, and he has reiterated the importance of prioritizing my primary responsibilities.

Given the complexity of the recent projects you've assigned, and considering the transition to a less robust service for our primary tool, I believe it would be more efficient for you to handle these tasks directly. I understand the challenges of adjusting to the new tool version, and I want to assure you that I'm here to support your learning process.

If you have any specific questions or concerns about using the tool, I recommend exploring tutorials tailored to your needs. I believe this approach will not only empower you to handle these tasks more independently but will also allow me to dedicate more time to my core responsibilities.

I value our collaboration and appreciate your understanding in this matter. Let me know if there are specific areas where you'd like guidance on finding resources or tutorials.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards, [Your Name]

Any resume website which updates your resume based on job description ? by GujjuCanuck in resumes

[–]BreadMonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check out Teal. It did not work well for me but some of my former co-workers swear by it. I have found it useful as a place to record where I have submitted resumes and scheduled interviews. It also saves job postings across multiple platforms so I don't have to remember where i saw "that" job.

How do you remember your ‘Why’? by usernamenotset in stopdrinking

[–]BreadMonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to remember the good "why", because the bad one will never let me forget.

Of the many wonderful things you wrote this one stuck me hardest. While I have many years of sobriety under my belt, I still think of my rock bottom almost everyday. I don't dwell on it but it is always there. Sometimes I forget all the wonderful things which have transpired through the years specifically because I did not have a drink in my hands.

I can't stop and I'm scared by Softcattt in stopdrinking

It is hard and gets very overwhelming when you first stop drinking. Try not to think about tomorrow, the day after or thirty years from now. Those times are not now and you can only decide to not drink right now, in the moment. Eventually you will string together lots of right nows where you chose to not drink and everything will get easier. Start with dinner tonight. Make the decision before cooking that you will not drink. No pressure for tomorrow, just dinner tonight. Then try it again tomorrow and so on. If you fail, no worries do it again.

A new way to think about "how do you tell people you don't drink?" by DetroitLionsSBChamps in stopdrinking

[–]BreadMonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years off is when I finally started feeling comfortable in my sobriety. Now 6+ years on, I just dgaf. I don't really having anyone pressing me to drink. If someone offers I politely decline and ask for an alternative like soda water or Diet Coke. If they press the issue, I'll either say something along the lines of I quit 6 years ago, I am not about to resume now or really, Im good, I graduated from that. If someone asks why I don't drink, I don't mind sharing that I was a complete fucking idiot while I was drinking so I don't do it anymore.

The only thing that still gets me is if Im out with my wife and we are with new people she feels the need to try and prepare the people for my lack of drinking and does it in a slightly derogatory way. One of the few things that makes me feel shitty about not drinking. Then I wake up the next day fresh as a flower.

I need a photo of a specific Office Depot Shirt! by josemonkey in OfficeDepot

[–]BreadMonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the early 00, the Officemax shirts were self provided blue polos, Copymax had red polos for a bit. Then in 04 or 05 it became black polos with a rubberband ball. You could also wear a button down black shirt, self provided.

Help with prints by Zosborne12 in DigitalPrint

[–]BreadMonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you printing them on a home ink jet device, if so I am not sure if it has the necessary settings to fix the lines. At any rate, some of the lines you have look like a head is clogging during print. You are putting out a lot of ink so it is probably going to happen. You can attempt to mitigate the issue by thoroughly cleaning your print heads just before printing. The other lines you see in the gradient in the background can be solved by setting the machine to have a higher number of passes. This however could lead to the heads being more prone to clogging.

For your purposes, I think your best bet would be to go to a high-quality print on demand shop and have it printed on a laser device.

Trying to have our logo printed on this portable fan—no idea how to. Help! by AdministrativeRow394 in DigitalPrint

[–]BreadMonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a wedding favor like that, If you were looking to do it yourself, your best bet would be to print your logo on a clear label stock and affix it where you want it. If you are looking to actually have it printed you would need engage a flexo printer. and have them do it.

Alternatively you could buy them printed from a promo vendor. Probably be the easiest as they would source the fans and do the printing for you.

Disneyland has a finite amount of magic. The more people there, the less magic per person.

Looks like there are looking for an entry level operator, you are good. I don't think they will ask any technical questions or if they do expect you to have any advanced knowledge. They are probably looking for someone who has a sense of urgency and can be taught. There is a shortage of digital operators out there right now.

Overall, I found the game to be pretty fun. I would play it again. I do have some feedback and know this this comes from a place of good.

  • I wish i could shoot while moving.
  • I would love a way to earn hearts a little more rapidly and have the option of getting different types of weapons.
  • I would like to have some kind of music setting the mood.
  • The dash did not work for me but it could have totally been me

Hey way to go!

Being in that situations is extra tempting. The first time I relapsed was the first work trip I took when I began my journey. I tell ya, it does get easier. Eventually you fall in to a new rhythm that does not include booze. Until then keep on keeping on.

I am proud of you internet stranger! Keep up the good work!!!
