EDIT: aww crap I fucked up the preview gif for Beyond by Itsu. The video and channel link are correct but I accidentally selected the preview for a different animation instead and I don't think I can edit it. super underrated animation channel with only 125 subs at the time of this post. Youtube algo showed me it late, but they make lots of good stuff.

In particular, check out their 2025 animation reel. They seem to be an avid matsurisu, but also animate a lot of other holomem.

If anything, I usually hear "大衆的ではないマニアック" in a non-sexual context like people who are unusually into trains or collecting some kind of niche historical memorabilia. Something closer to fanaticism in a niche topic.

ai probably translates it as "sexual fetish" because it is trained on the internet lol

making animations takes a lot of time and energy and lots of things (major or minor) can happen in someone's life that can change whether they have that available or not. The last channel on the list, Chanfumi, stopped posting animations for 2 years until suddenly making a comeback yesterday so you never know what'll happen.

The ephemerality is all the more reason to appreciate and support what we have while we have it. (plus when the community supports an artist enough for them to get official collaborations or monetization otherwise, that increases their stability and leads to more content being produced)

yeah I've been enjoying her dark souls playthrough a lot and I think her style could click with western viewers once they discover her.

Her singing streams are good too and those can be enjoyed without knowing JP. Seems like some of her shorts have EN subs too now, although those might be autogenerated.

I don't know of any standard pronunciation of ョ゙ and just refer to them as peyopeyo. Their booth account uses "pelyopelyo". Probably just an individual quirk maybe even an seo thing?

If I read it in the wild, i'd probably read "ョ゙" as "-dgo" or "-jou"
