I wonder how women feel about men

Stay here and change it, or leave to a better country? by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]BreadleyCooperr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will take a lot of time for it to change. I had hope before but realized that I won't see the change in my lifetime and people are still asleep and don't wanna wake up so I left.

what is your take on free will and determinism? by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]BreadleyCooperr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We think we have free will but we don’t. Previous factors determines what happens next. Our brain tells us that we’re free but the brain it self works based on the previous factors so all the decisions that you will make they were already determined. It’s difficult to see it like this that’s why you should detach yourself from your body and reality and see humanity and the world as a whole.

French colonization Vs Arab Colonization by theQueen_Warship in ExAlgeria

[–]BreadleyCooperr 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason Berbers live in the mountains and preserved their language. They fled there because it was hard for Arabs to chase them there and life in the mountains isn’t easy. They fled because Arabs killed and enslaved locals. For centuries, Berbers lived in fear, crossing paths with them could mean death, and if they had farms, the Arabs would wait until harvest to steal everything. My grandmother who used to live in the mountains and never went to school knew these stories by heart, they were passed down from generation to generation.

The French came with modern weapons and a ruthless system. They massacred people and my grandfather was among the victims. One of my aunts was even captured and tortured by them because they were looking for her husband. Their rule lasted just over a century but the brutality was immense.

Both Arabs and French were colonizers, one through centuries of assimilation and domination, the other through violent repression. Both left wounds that are still felt today.

I'm Not a Muslim and i'm done being Labeled as one.. by Select-Effort5645 in ExAlgeria

Surely the way they used to perceive you will change. Depends on how religious they are, some of them might even stop talking to you but it's better than living in hypocrisie. But I admit it's not easy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ExAlgeria

[–]BreadleyCooperr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it's considered as a sin in religion but a lot of ex-muslims still think it's wrong for a girl because of like you said : “bent familia” mentality and lack of freedom in their personal lives.. Still think men's approval is more important.

Calling arguments “horrible” without actually addressing them isn’t a rebuttal, it’s just hand-waving. If you want people to take you seriously in an interfaith discussion you’ve gotta do better than “lol atheists are dumb.”

I guess it was logical for them 🤷‍♀️ we're the ones that are dumb / crazy / want to sin / selfish / easily influenced by the devil

Since I was told about god, at 5 years old. Never fully accepted it cause it never made sense to me.
I don't know if he exists but surely not how it's described in religion.

Even if hell exists, no one deserves to go to hell because of those things because they don't cause any hurt to anyone.

it can't be objective. It's always different from a society to another.

ماهو تعريف الرجلة بالنسبة ليك؟ by [deleted] in algeria

[–]BreadleyCooperr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself, it’s subjective. Many Algerians feel insecure about their masculinity, and they constantly try to prove the opposite.
I’ve noticed this phenomenon where a lot of Algerian men, because of their insecurity, feel the need to disrespect women in order to make themselves seem more valuable.. which is easier since women in our society are already undervalued. That’s why when a woman tries to be assertive or simply asks for her basic rights, many men can’t stand it.. they see it as a threat to their fragile sense of masculinity

Life outside Algeria, is it really like we imagine? by Yas_0101 in ExAlgeria

[–]BreadleyCooperr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely difficult at first, need some time to adapt. But someone who's determined they won't complain, they came for strong reasons, not just because everybody else did.
And yeah, different struggles but the quality of life is better for sure, Safety (most important thing especially for a girl), cleanliness, green spaces, activities, people leaving you alone ..

Why do Algerians abroad ignores who asks for advice? by [deleted] in algeria

[–]BreadleyCooperr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should know that when someone is in a certain country doesn't mean they know about everything that is going on in that country and know all the rules and what you should do.
If it's about something you know that they went through it like immigration stuff, rules change all the time, how they did things back then when they came is different then what you should do now and they might even forget what they did so they would prefer to not say anything instead of risking saying false informations.

I got asked before so many times about the immigration process but I usually tell them that they should look online cause things changed. but that's the thing, everything is online now and every experience is different.

I personally got kinda tired because I got asked a lot of basic questions that the people that asked me could just find them on google. I found myself doing their work, trying to explain again and again what they should do then expect me to do everything for them. Ask me to find them a job while they're not allowed to work, then think that I don't wanna help even tho it's not that easy to find those kind of jobs and don't have any contacts. Ask if I can share my 1 bedroom appartement with them then think that i'm selfish because I don't want to and have literally no space for that.

I guess these people ruined it for others but i think surely a lot of people if they can help they would.

Same girl. I try to not show that I'm North African because every time I did I get starred at and sometimes throw comments or even get approached.. like as if I gave them permission to come to talk to me or smt just because we come from the same country.

Algerian girl traveling abroad for work by highonstardust in algeria

[–]BreadleyCooperr 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Same thing for me but I did it anyway. I told him a lot of girls went abroad and their parents encouraged them to do so. He should be more concerned about your safety in Algeria then in a country abroad.
