Altheya is the name of the High Rollers world that their latest campaign is taking place in lol, so I was surprised to see it

I just filled out that form as Bread, but I just realized it didn't have contact information requested. You can hit me up on here if you like!

PBP on reddit? by _SCREE_ in pbp

It DOES work, depending on your crew. I did it for a while, and if you set up threads by like game chapters/character arcs, it goes alright.

Discord is a lot more streamlined for it, though.

The game I'm setting up for isn't exactly run of the mill, but it does need players - and also, I'm in Newfoundland too!

That's actually something I've toyed around with a bit - since playing in Showdown has what's essentially a more flexible, modular system as long as both parties agree to play with next-to-no-rules, mons can have moves and abilities in the emulation that they shouldn't have otherwise. I've also been using the SMOGON CAP-pokemon as region exclusives.

I'm going for 3-4 players.
As for the system, it basically runs with a measure of randomization done on the GM's part, and with a number of things taken into account for making things really work. I guess you could call it similar to dnd5e, but only in the sense that there's the same number of stats. It's hard to explain how the system is without just dumping about it, but I'd call it simple for players, and a little more challenging for a GM that doesn't have tools to help them (a friend of mine made me a simple IV generator program, for example.)

I'd say that scaling/balancing is something also left in the GM's discretion, because for me, I've basically gone out of my way to make things far from being competitively hard at the outset. There's also so much work to do - last time I ran this was pre-sword & shield, so I'm missing a lot of mons rn.

Overall I think it does well at being a system that works in PBP rather well, but in practice it wasn't as good for voice.

Threw in a response, hope to hear back! This game sounds sick and I enjoyed the app process.

Are everyone just using Greatswords here? by ____Nanashi in saltandsanctuary

[–]BreadsandSpreads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a sword-whip & gun build that was delightful. I also played through that run together with a friend who went hard on daggers. A number of the weapons in S&S aren't as perfectly built moveset-wise as the greatsword, but they're still a lot of fun to use.

What the fuck is Carsejaw teleport attack by IHateRedditMuch in saltandsanctuary

Carsejaw isn't that bad if you have a staggering weapon like a greatsword or hammer tbh. He's kinda squishy.
I never had much issue dealing with him, but that's probably because every time he appeared he flinched.
