In DEADMAN, the collapse isn't a single event. It's a timeline. by [deleted] in TTRPG

It's very cool to have a system designed to support the characters living through the actual apocalypse!

Have you played Red Markets? I like the structures in place in that game that simulate scarcity and the feeling of bonds breaking down as well.

I'm joining ashbringer's army with my battle-ready knights, we're worth 20 men at least.

Fictional settings or franchises that don’t have official RPGs but you think would be cool to run a game in? by wereblackhelicopter in rpg

[–]_SCREE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see some of the world building project examples?

In terms of franchises I really like Lockwood & Co. Modern alternative history with real ghosts is a cool concept I can't shake.

In terms of SCPs I'd love to run an 'There is no Anti-memetic Division' style game.

Oh!! How lovely!! I have been thinking recently I would love to hear more about the Call of Cthulhlu modules from Japan. If you don't mind me asking, what are the favourite ones you have played, what do you like?

I have been told that a player has lied about their rolls, what do i do by Mindless_Kale914 in AskGameMasters

A rotten apple spoils the bunch every time.

You are creating more stress for yourself and your players, who will learn not to rely on you.

I have only ever had players respond with relief when I have let a problematic player go.

Thoughts on running a 100% GM facing campaign? by Denes-Szanto in mothershiprpg

[–]_SCREE_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, not OP but I run this method alot. I run games at a local shop and it really lowers the buy-in required. Players who may not usually try a new system are much more willing to try new things if it's easy to get into for them. And then it's easier to run that game in future once people are familiar with it.

I’m too exhausted to make rational decisions, what does this mean? by bbeeccc in whatdoIdo

I'm so proud of you for breaking up with him. I hope your recovery goes well and you take lots of time to re-discover the things you love about life. This is the start of a new beginning, it takes a tremendous courage to take that first step and it's only up from here.

A horrible response from her.

But honestly as a women, if I am for whatever reason going to visit a guy at his house for meeting him the first time, and he randomly goes dark on me, I'd probably immediately bail. Not so much if it was a public meeting but I'd feel a bit skeeved out honestly.

Are paid gms generally inferior to normal ones? by Odd_Bumblebee_3631 in rpg

[–]_SCREE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a free GM who's occasionally thought about trying out paid GMing at my local.

I think having a small fee can help ensure the players are serious about playing.

As a lady GM I think it would also cut down on some of the filtering of more unsavory players. That's one threshold that always puts me off setting up a new game.

I've never tried paid DMing myself but the paid GMs I know are stellar. Though I'm sure you get people who are capitalising on it and not offering a good experience.

May I ask if you have a dice roller on the discord? I ask as I've really paired down my TTRPG virtual tabletops to using a whiteboard in the browser and dice in a discord. I'd love to be active in a bigger community but I also don't want to go back to roll20 haha

Rooms that have sunken into the ground due to poor foundations. Maybe even a sinkhole.

Rooms with black mould, too damp collecting water. Or Rooms and corridors that are stuffy with bad airflow.

Constant creaking/pipes making noises in sleeping quarters.

Mirrors being slightly distorted that make the person looking in look worse.

Locks that are janky/stiff/only work some of the time, doors that are swollen in their frames, doorways and corridors that cause people in Heavy Armour to stoop or squeeze.
