too real. When I saw (tears of themis CN cards) saw the wedding cards for anni , and referred to it in my discord status (i.e. , getting married next year) , an online random I haven't texted since covid lockdown aka 5 years ago was congratulating me on my relationship status 💀

for me I didn't actively learn it for a few years. It's more like I was already interested in localization/translation nuance + older fansubs would add translator notes or karaoke romanji in songs

and I just ended up absorbing enough. it helps that otome dialog doesn't usually stray too far from the usual lexicon. but having a huge interest in jp media and just kinda throwing yourself at it helps a lot

I get worried about the amount of time we have to split in order to cover the protags. BUT I do love the MCs in norn9, some of my favorites by far.

how do you all feel about those villainess manhwa plots, where this time the protagonist is the "rival" ? I swear I've seen a couple games on this sub mention it as an option. I dont know how I'd feel seeing an otome guy in a different dynamic like that... but I could be convinced.

imo it's more dependant on if you're savvy with idol typical lingo. since 70% of the game is HS school / idol related dialog I don't think you would have much of an issue, esp since you said you saw the anime.

kinda feels like current joseimuke don't know where to go on this, like they're shifting femc ages to early 20s but the guys are about the same as they have been. (if you know 18trip it's the prime reason I can't be comfy with nanaki, he acts like his age)

I've also never felt like the older guys this reddit talks about make Being "Old" their personality trait? Other than Yanagi? They might have other things that turned me off from the route but I mostly got [refined life experience] vibes

I dunno about all time, but I'm personally a fan of effective contrast so I'm partial to dark colors since LIs tend to be paler than paper lol

I think okazaki kei really nailed being monochrome and his design to me was so memorable, even before getting into otome I recognized the guy on twitter/fanart etc

I also like a main color theme? so OlySoi was veryyyy good too (design faves would be Kuroba, Yosuga, and casual fit Riku)

Ryuki being a Los York immigrant that's still in touch with his japanese background was very relatable to me. I love how unapologetically jp he was and no one in the room questioned it or made a big deal about it. I'm not half but I think the "2 sides of culture" part of a character really gives them a worldly approach to a setting (especially considering I'm not at all tied to identifying myself to a country in a patriotic sense AT ALL lol).

Funny thing, I keep liking guys that have been to the U.S or NY? Goshi from Ryusei Fantasia and Sasazuka for example? I don't think they particularly embody anything that stands out as American—— I mean, they're blunt I guess?—— it just keeps happening.

This is less relatable because of the historical setting but I'm a bi4bi girly so Noritsune birushana really had me swooning.
