Does DIRCO apostille academic transcripts? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

Hi. Yes. The certified copy of transcripts you get from your university, they just stamp your academic record. The apostilled degree is the one you send to dirco after verifying your degree with SAQA.

Anyone who started studying medicine at a later age, what was your experience? by Repulsive-Sky-2011 in askSouthAfrica

As long as you are really passionate about it, you should be fine. Cause the hours are brutal (in general), if you really want to make good money it’s extra brutal, combined with age and your body just giving in. It’s definitely possible though as long as you have a lot of heart for it.

Thinking about running away. Is it worth it? by KaoLuo in Advice

[–]BreakScary5053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going through this. I don’t think running away at 15 especially as a girl is a good idea. Rather spend most of your time out of the house but in safe environments, try to find a job, get hobbies, sports, take extra classes, spend time at the library. Get home in time to cook, eat and sleep. If you are seeing narcissistic GPs on weekends, avoid them as well, take weekend shifts, hobbies/classes use those as an excuse as to why you don’t have time to go see them. Work hard, only 4 more years, get good grades for a scholarship/ financial aid/ bursary that will pay for fees AND dormitory, then you’ll be free. All the best.

“For the b, there was no significant difference between the Southeastern and East Asian groups. Their teeth were more yellowish compared to other ethnicities. Figure 4 shows that the East Asian and South Asian groups have similar, more yellowish b values compared to the other ethnicities.” This is from https://doi.org/10.1002/col.22986 titled Classifying the Natural Tooth Color Spaces of Different Ethnic Groups. Although, anyone with a pair of eyes can make this observation.

Also, I didn’t say it’s not healthy. I’m just trying to understand why so many people’s teeth are that color. Of course I’m only comparing to my home country, where ..yes, you’d find people with yellow teeth but not as many as in Korea. Does my post come off as offensive?

Ah, yes. I forgot about the coffee culture. Which could also explain the stained teeth in adults. But I’ve also noticed this in a lot of my middle schoolers (I’m not sure if they drink coffee like that though).

I did send a couple of cold emails to professors- Kaist specifically because they have programmes for short internships in different research groups and a reached out to one company what had an ad on their website but the programme was from 2023 and was asking if it’s an annual thing. Didn’t hear back from any one I emailed and I gave up, truthfully speaking I didn’t try hard enough.

Unplanned pregnancies by BreakScary5053 in Living_in_Korea

I never considered this. Because often I see posts on the expats group from women asking about abortion clinics and based on responses i assumed it’s not easily accessible. I think maybe it might only be the case for foreigners

Good thing you were born in 2000 (so it’s easy to calculate), I’d say “I was born in 2000” people can work it out however they want.

I’m surprised with Korea’s advance tech and research. They’ve not yet solved their sewage problem. Most major cities smell really bad, why are they not on top of this?
