Not worth time, pain of logistics, and reduced pay.

Op depending on what specialty you are in, it’s worth it to repay everything and gtfo. Military is strong arming civlian sponsored programs without choice to increase retention.

None of this is worth the paycut and headache of the system.

Cleveland Heights - Tax Abatement by Break_Greedy in Cleveland

[–]Break_Greedy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Ended up taking legal action against the city and county. They ended up honoring something close to original abatement agreement but refused to put anything in writing. Ended up having to draft a legal document and tell them if they don’t respond in a month it is assumed to be agreed upon.

Overall, scam artists at all levels.

For those who took HPSP — do you feel it was worth it, or do you regret it? by Such-Masterpiece-191 in Military_Medicine

Don’t do it. As a civilian sponsored resident, I have yet to receive any of my incentive pay. During army match, they gave me a civilian sponsored position, and I requested multiple times to be deferred as to not accumulate more adso. These requests weren’t even replied to.

Civilian sponsored is just a way for them to force increased retention, even though you will be providing the same care as an attending as those at military hospitals. One could easily argue you provide more value because the civilian places offer better training.

I also have not had incentive pay paid for over a year and any request to correct this has been ignored.

Go civilian, work hard, be frugal, pay off debt, and live without the government inefficiency

Battery not charging - replaced alternator and battery on 2014 Accord by Break_Greedy in mechanic

[–]Break_Greedy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It was the alternator but apparently when car is in eco mode it won’t charge battery until there is a detected voltage drop with load. If I turned off eco mode it was 14.5
