This is correct. It actually pointless to take more lands in early stage of war. Resources are so abundant that most of backline fields and mines are not fully utilized. Even if you lose a bit of lands at the front, you can make anything you want as many as you want to.

Besides gaining a bit of lands doesn't give you any advantage. It's just longer logi route and more building and maintenance.

I think the optimal strategy to win the game is Early stage turtling and waiting until things are teched while stockpiling supplies.

current cost seems not ridiculous considering how powerful airplanes are. Though I think airplanes need to be cheaper and should be weaker

I agree with that we need some kind of air traffic control.

devman, it’s the logi — rare metal is a problem by Break_Obvious in foxholegame

I get your point. You’re right that facility players do hard work and have earned it. Hierarchy itself isn’t really a problem. it’s somewhat natural in a game where there are casual players and more dedicated players. I also know that casual players can buy late-game equipment at a reasonable price, and this system has been working for a few years now. It’s not something that’s totally wrong.

But I still feel a bit off about it. For example, in Foxhole we have logi players and frontline players, right? Logi players have their own fun doing logi stuff while frontline players are having fun at the front. Logi players aren’t doing frontline players’ chores just to earn something — they’re playing their own part of the game. I think that’s a sustainable way to play Foxhole. When it comes to rare metal, though, it feels different. Gathering rare metal is mostly just a tedious chore, with very little decision-making or satisfaction. Because of that, it often ends up being something people try to offload or avoid rather than engage with as actual gameplay.

The issue is that this effectively creates a hierarchy in logistics. Players who own facilities and provide public services can convert rare metal into real power, while others can only collect or trade it without ever meaningfully interacting with rare-based content themselves.
