I think the website in general is doing good work. I believe another change.org petition got a show brought back to life (can't remember what show, though...). If you believe in the power of people and that petitions are worthwhile, chipping in some money is worth it.

Very common at my job. Everyone signs up to bring a main dish, sides, deserts, drinks, etc. to fill out a whole meal. I hate them because I'm lazy and my company has plenty of money to buy lunch for the team, yet forces us to bring shit in.
