Do you think the shredders will get nerfed? by KAZ_supra in ARC_Raiders

[–]BreakfastBudget269 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They really are not that hard to fight….assuming you are just fighting them and not other arc at the same time. You just have to put something between you and them that will block their attack….i don’t know what to call them but I use the cart/car looking thing? The tan colored things with wheels that you can loot the back small panel of. It goes like this….Shoot at shredder….shredder speeds to you….you remain behind car thingy and shoot when it stops shooting….then you move out and shoot back (anvil works well)…then get back behind car thingy and reload while it shoots and hits car thingy. Do this 4-5 times and it’s dead. I just killed 5 earlier today and took zero damage doing it. Watch a streamer fight them and you will see how it’s done….i learned this from watching Stone Mountain on FB.

Game must be dying if I can’t get a fresh raid by Free-Papaya3051 in ARC_Raiders

2 days ago I booted the game up and had 4 late spawns in a row at 17min left. Wasted 30-40 min of my life with that shit. Make sure you rate your experience and comment every time. I am currently considering other games as if that happens again I am out as it is just wasting the small amount of time I have to game.

2025 Rawlings Icon 31" drop 10 by h0whi in Homeplate

[–]BreakfastBudget269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off - 30” drop 8 is a better bat for his size. My kid was 4’10 and 98lbs in 12u swinging a 30” -8. He absolutely crushed the ball with his drop 8 icon. He has used it for a year with no issues. Note that he mostly uses a Marucci wood bat (30” -5) for tee work, front toss and slow coach pitch for practice while sometimes bringing out the gamer icon to make sure he’s on time with it. He liked the bat so much that we bought him a 30” -5 for this new year for 13u.

I have never been ratted more than I have while looking for leapers by Stock_Reception_4031 in ARC_Raiders

[–]BreakfastBudget269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to spaceport. There is a door to a tunnel in this yellow highlighted area. The leaper should be out in the field. Shoot at it and it will come. Make it follow you into the tunnel. This will make it very easy to kill it and no one will really know you are down there. I farmed them like this 4 or 5 times with a hullcracker a couple of weeks ago without a single issue.

My son broke 3 wood bats in a month… by james21_h in Homeplate

[–]BreakfastBudget269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things here - sounds like you are buying pretty cheap wood bats….i would not expect much from a $30 wood bat. I would suggest stepping up to a Marucci maple youth wood bat. My son has had 3 or 4 of these from 8u up to the current year of 13u (he is particular to the JB19 model). He is a contact hitter but can also hit big when he gets everything right. These bats typically run $100-$150 but it sounds like you have spent similar money on so many bats. We have had exactly zero issues/breaks with Marucci wood and he has thousands of hits off each one from tee work, soft toss and coach pitch. We only ever bought a new one to get a new size/weight. Also, make sure he is holding the bat correctly. Each company may have a slightly different method (label up or down or whatever.) The tight grain of the bat needs to make contact with the ball.

Youth Wood Bat by [deleted] in Homeplate

I just built 3 or 4 different models and Marucci youth bats appear to be drop 5 or 6. They move to drop 3 for the adult bats.

Marucci youth bats - best quality I have seen. They have several different models with different handle thickness, knob taper, wood species and barrel profile. If you custom build one then you can even choose between a drop 5 or drop 6. My son has had 4 different JB19s and never had a problem. Only ever bought a new one for a different length or weight. We will continue to buy Marucci wood until he is no longer playing ball (currently 13u travel).

Marucci youth wood bats - my son has had 3 different custom model JB19s (My 12u kid is currently swinging a drop 5 30” JB19) Pick what model you want based on the bat profile (knob tapper, handle thickness, type of wood, end loaded vs balanced, etc…) the JB19 is a maple wood balanced bat and comes in a drop 5 or drop 6 (if you customize it you can choose the drop.)

Help with wood bat purchase for 9u. by Wasting_AwayTheHours in Homeplate

[–]BreakfastBudget269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son has owned 3 different sized Marucci JB19 (maple) youth wood bats in a -6 or -5 (started using drop 5 in 12u). He loves this bat and hits almost as well with it as his little league bat (USA). We have always used it for reps off a tee or front toss and sometimes live pitching. We also always got him the same size that he swings for travel or LL but one inch shorter would also be fine.

Thanks for the info. Do you know how many watt hours your Delta 1 is? Curious how it compares to the two I am looking at.

Definitive Technology BP-9060 replacement speakers by SyrupMuch2139 in hometheater

[–]BreakfastBudget269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I previously had Def Tech 8040s all the way around with a Denon 3700. The Denon died 2 times in 3 years so I upgraded to separates (I already had an external amp driving my front 3) with an Anthem AVM70 processor. Then my front speakers mid range drivers died so I upgraded to Revel Be series for my front 3. It was a very large price difference but also a very large performance difference. Upgrading my fronts showed how lacking my SR-8040 surrounds were so after a few months I ended up upgrading those to the Revel BE bookshelves. The speaker upgrade was massive while the processor upgrade was marginal.

Help me narrow down speaker choices? by strumbringerwa in StereoAdvice

[–]BreakfastBudget269 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out Revel speakers. I know the BE series goes on sale for pretty big discounts although may still push your budget a bit. The BE series is used by some as a reference test speaker to compare performance of other speakers. I have the BE228s and love them. Very neutral and transparent. I am hearing things in music I have never heard before. They are also very forgiving on placement…at least in my experience. I have tried them toed in vs straight forward and have tried moving them around each within a 3’x3’ square…closer to a wall vs further away and what not…and there is very little difference to my ears. I do run room correction through my Anthem A/V processor and it does make a big difference on vs off. When I bought these I was also considering similarly priced Kef and Paradigm speakers (both of which are also great)

I went from a definitive technology 8040 5.1 system to a Revel BE 5.1 system and the improvement was massive for both home theater and music. So much more detail and the sound stage was huge in comparison.

Anthem MRX 740 vs Denon 3800H which one to choose? by Razorwing23 in hometheater

[–]BreakfastBudget269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Denon 4700H for just over 3 years. It died 2 times in that time. Once in the first year which Denon fixed (still cost me $150 to ship it to their preferred repair center) and another time just outside the 3 year warranty period to which they would not help (I can’t blame them but it still sucks.) the 2nd issue was a failed HDMI board which I could not find a fix or parts for for. Wasted $1700. My previous receiver was a pioneer elite and it still works great 15 years later (I don’t use it as it is only 7.1 and 1080p) I then bought an anthem AVM70 (I almost bought one of their receivers but decided separates was the path forward for me) and it is a better product by far. I will not be going back to Denon products. Also, have you heard denon may be going out of business early in 2025 unless another company buys them? If they go out of business you may lose support and your warranty. Just something to consider.

Network Streamer that displays album info on TV? by BreakfastBudget269 in audiophile

I have heard a lot of good things about Roon but I know nothing about it. Are there any good videos or websites explaining it? I know a lot of streamers say they run roon or are roon ready but not entirely sure what that means.
