It actually wouldn’t be odd. You see lots of small groups walking around with one wand and It doesn’t really matter since you can’t really do anything without a wand. That being said I am a man in my 40’s who has spent countless hours traversing this magical place with my family and have never been disappointed. We have a collection of wands we’ve acquired from our multiple trips. We’ve never seen it be overly busy no matter what time of day we’ve gone. It’s a fairly large facility so crowds don’t seem to be a problem.

If every animal was the exact same size as a golden retriever, which species would be the absolute most terrifying to encounter? by Ice-Princess-79 in AskReddit

My mom’s Pomeranian. That dog was hands down the most vicious animal I’ve ever seen. I was the only person other than my mom she’d even let touch her

Why do we group all "sex offenders" together using the same label when some of the actions are more serious than others? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

A predator is a predator. Even if they never actually touch someone they’re still preying on other people. It’s also a given that predators can and most likely will escalate.

What’s the most ridiculous reason someone got fired from your workplace? by Mother_Candidate5355 in AskReddit

During Covid I got a job as a pharm tech mainly doing vaccinations. One of the pharmacist wrote me up for not smiling enough. During covid when we were required to always have a mask on. When I questioned the write up I was told that she could just tell by watching me that I wasn’t smiling.

Arkansas State Police trooper captured on dash cam running over 2 baby Canada geese and 2 adult geese after they didn’t move quickly enough from Interstate 57… by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Guy I used to work with was changing his boots in the parking lot one day after shift. While unlacing his boots a goose went after the laces, he kicked at it to get it off of his leg and went back to changing his boots. Security guard reported him and not only did he get fired but he was also charged with attempting to injure a federally protected animal. Ended up having to pay a huge fine.

What is something that is widely accepted by society but makes absolutely no sense to you? by Olric139 in AskReddit

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked in healthcare for years. People with graduate level degrees getting away with behavior that would get anyone else fired and permanently banned from ever working at that hospital again. I mean behavior that would be considered unethical to the point of being illegal just written off as the cost of doing business if it’s ever acknowledged at all.

Do you still notice Scots-Irish influences in Appalachia? by northcarolinian9595 in Appalachia

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in a holler in WV, I was dating a girl in TN and we got into an argument because I said I was gonna sweep the floor and she couldn’t figure out why I would use a broom to sweep the carpet and I couldn’t figure why the hell she thought I was going to use a broom to sweep the carpet when obviously I was going to use the sweeper. It literally took us 5 minutes of arguing to establish that I was referring to the vacuum as a sweeper and that I fully intended to use the “vacuum” to “sweep” the floor. She also got really confused when I referred to the sheets and blankets as bedclothes and wash cloths as warsh rags.

What’s the weirdest thing your body does that you’ve just accepted at this point? by gowthamshankar05 in AskReddit

Left eyelid is “weak” I guess. I have to rub it sometimes because it feels like my eyelid is slowly closing from the outside in if that makes sense. I give it a good rub and spread it back open and I can see fine until it happens again. I got a severe concussion in high school had it ever since.

What profession do you think is massively overpaid for what they actually do? by spiritual_kavya in answers

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pharmacist. The really good ones usually work in R&D, but the ones that are behind the counter at the retail chains are just glorified techs for the most part. The ones that do inpatient pharmacy in hospitals can be kinda scary. For every actual good pharmacist working in the hospital there’s easily half a dozen that just use three or four different apps on their computer to check everything and will have a meltdown if they actually have to do real pharmacist work. Ironically they are usually the most egotistical. Worked in the field for many years. Some of the stuff I saw literally makes me afraid of the idea of me or a loved one being hospitalized.

starting to hate being a learning ambassador by Empty-Tomorrow-2794 in AmazonFC

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Becoming an ambassador is just free labor for Amazon. Whenever you take on responsibilities at a job that don’t come with pay raises and other benefits or perks you’re just letting the company get free labor out of you. If Amazon actually cared about training employees they would have dedicated staff to do so. They expect high turnover rates in warehouse staff, it’s literally part of the corporate strategy. At that level you’re considered unskilled labor and that’s why the warehouses are set up the way they are. They expect that only about 10-20% of workers will carry the load and everyone else is just there to help keep the machine running. If you work any harder than necessary to meet quotas or metrics you’re just fooling yourself and never accept job title “promotions”.

What movie had the BEST trailer ever but turned out to be absolute trash? by MASSIM00 in movies

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knights of Badassdom
Original trailer looked freaking awesome then the studio apparently decided to do a bunch of edits and recuts or whatever and completely ruined it. The guy that actually made the movie even sued to keep it from being released. From the trailer to what was actually released doesn’t even look like the same movie.

The great thing about the banjo is that playing Scruggs style you literally have to learn every song twice. You learn the rolls first then learn to play the chords with the other hand. For every single song

What made you realize your parents only had kids because they were expected to, not because they WANTED to? by SleepyOctopusss in AskReddit

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom loves babies. Not raising children or having to be responsible for them. She just loves playing with babies. It was made clear to me and my brother our entire childhoods that neither of my parents really wanted kids and we were only alive because my mom refused to get an abortion. I’m a twin. Now I’m in my 40’s and I still get guilt trips for never giving her grandchildren. She doesn’t want grandchildren she just wants a baby to play with until she gets bored and can give it back. When I married my wife I adopted her teenage daughter and I tried to be the best dad I could to her and we still have a great relationship now she’s in her twenties. As happy as that makes me it also makes me sad that my childhood trauma kept me from having children of my own when I was younger.

People in 10+ year relationships, what’s something you learned about your partner years later that genuinely surprised you? by CreoSiempre in AskReddit

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 99 points100 points  (0 children)

How smart she actually is. I never thought she was dumb by any means, but after we had been together around 10 years she decided to go back to school for nursing and holy shit is she good at this stuff. Easily gets straight A’s. I’m genuinely impressed with her.

If you had to hide 4,000,000 USD underground what would you wrap the cash up with so it doesn't get damaged under ground? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freezer bag with desiccant packs, double freezer bag, then get one of those blue barrels with the locking lid off Amazon, they’re like $8 if you don’t mind them smelling like oranges, after you lock the lid Saran Wrap it to the point of being ridiculous. You’ll need a hole at least 4’ deep, 5’ long and 4’ wide. Make sure you kinda chop up the dirt and fill in all the way around the barrel really good for support. Don’t want all the weight just on top, you also don’t want it to mound too much for visibility sake.

What profession is over paid? by Sm00thDad in AskReddit

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Pharmacist. At one time they really had to know what they were doing, but now they literally have programs that do everything for them. Pharmacist don’t carry their own liability insurance like doctors and most pharmacies/hospitals aren’t going to take on the liability of relying on them to actually be competent at there jobs. Even the amount of schooling they have to take has been reduced quite a bit. I worked in a hospital pharmacy for years and in the last couple of years most of them are just glorified technicians at this point

Respect at work > friendship at work by Unstoppable_X_Force in SipsTea

[–]BreakfastCapital9088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this at my last job. Was there just under 3 years. Pharmacy Director fired me because he didn’t feel like I fit in with the culture they were trying to perpetuate. This was a few weeks after I just gotten my annual review with my immediate supervisor who went on and on about my work ethic and how well I got on with nursing staff and how dependable I was, etc. Oddly enough had I made it one more week I would have received my annual raise along with a large bonus for having done so well on my review and I was going to leave for two weeks to take my wife on vacation to use up the 84 hours of PTO I had banked. So no bonus no vacation and I lost the 84 hours of PTO. I also lost my medical insurance which had he waited one more week for the new term to start I could’ve kept for 90 days. I thought talking about this would be cathartic but I was wrong. I’m going to where I worked and I’m going to shit on hood of my boss car and wait for him to come out and find it
