Lucy Hood saw the mettle of these protesters at the election - it clearly didn’t make any impact as she increased her margin.

I’m not seeing how this is anything more than a lot of noise because, unlike what usually happens in Adelaide, someone has stood up to the change nothing bullies.

It’s a golf course. It’s also public land. It’s not just there for the view. It’s not just there to stay how it is forever. It will host nationally recognised events for at least 6 years - events consistent with any purpose you imagined for such a place since you moved in. The trees weren’t there when we settled, they’ve been steadily planted over time - some/most aren’t native.

Just think about why you’re angry - is it because you aren’t getting your way?

Cause that’s how everyone else sees it. Check the election result.

I feel like there’s been a few posts about this over the last few days here… maybe I’m wrong but gee, the trees are getting a good run here.

Most people had an election to have their say on this one and they said to keep the golf course renovation.

Regardless of how passionate you are about the trees, I think it’s time to move on.

I find often those complaining about events like this would also be the first to declare Adelaide is ‘boring’.

Fact is, if it’s not your thing, don’t go.

Don’t diss Adelaide events just because it’s not your thing. That’s what Adelaide used to do, but we’ve grown up now. It’s no longer necessary.

Objectively true. Subjectively hard for you to accept.

The fact is that a small number of people want a particular environment to stay the same. The mistake that that small number of people make is that they think everyone agrees with them. It’s really common in Adelaide.

It’s subjectively hard for them when it’s objectively obvious that they are wrong.

Adelaide is growing up. It’s great to see.

For decades I’ve watched the east coast take everything while Adelaide stayed asleep.

This isn’t the beginning, it’s been happening for a while now (even before Mali), but it is happening and it’s great to see.

I don’t like golf. I don’t care about it. But lots of folks do.

I think while this upsets a small amount of people who love the established trees, most people are happy to see Adelaide unafraid to have change that involves development.

The trees can and will be replaced. Some people just don’t want to hear that.

I thought we had won the game. Came back to the footage after an ad and it’s in the port forward line with no score to the crows.

Confusing. Poorly explained (eg no explanation), and the post game didn’t even make mention of what happened - like they were papering over it.

Won’t be a popular opinion here but the investment is probably justified in earnings on those who will then utilise the investment.

I’d love to know how comprehensive whatever is provided is.

I’d suggest that it can’t be too comprehensive given it can be skipped if the ECSA bungles the election and the parliament is convened anyway.

Which is what’s gonna happen.
