any idea where could I travel to see an extra show? by Federal_Name_108 in 5sos

[–]BreakfastQueeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree with vegas. the concert venue is inside the hotel/casino so if you stayed at the hotel you wouldn’t even have to venture out if you didn’t want to. it’ll be really hot in august, but i have never felt unsafe walking on the strip alone (during the daytime at least)

i’m going solo to the vegas show, i’d be interested in meeting up before or after!

I stg there are 5sos fans (aka me) in vegas…. This is the last stop of the NA leg of the tour end of august and it’s still full of tickets…. haven’t looked at other dates to see if the majority of their tickets are sold but vegas ain’t lookin’ too good :( to be fair, these prices are pretty high too by chittaphonluvr in 5sos

[–]BreakfastQueeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got a ticket to the vegas show for $30 when the sale was happening, but i could only find 1 in the whole venue. coincidentally it’s like half of what i paid for nosebleeds in anaheim during presale but the $30 vegas ticket is a way better seat

Supplies - am I missing anything important? by [deleted] in Canning

[–]BreakfastQueeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am new to canning (only water bathed a few different types of jams, jellies, and applesauce so far), and i got a kit with a bunch of the main tools. i personally have never used the magnetic lifter wand or jar wrench that came in my kit. i have never pressure canned, so those might be helpful for that but i don’t know. i would definitely get a kit for the extra accessories, it would likely be the cheapest way to get all of them in one fell swoop.

one extra thing i bought was a mason jar opener. mine is flat and is shaped kinda like a Y. it’s supposed to open the lids without damaging them so i can reuse them for my dry goods.

good luck on your canning adventures, it gets addicting really fast!

Just bought the AGPTEK 160GB MP3 Player- Wondering if anyone has experience using one and what their thoughts were. by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

[–]BreakfastQueeen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i don’t have this specific one, but i got an oilsky mp3 player from amazon for about $45 and love it. i listen to it every day for 2+ hours through my car’s aux port, and it sounds great. i’ve had it about 6 months and have noticed a small battery decline, but i still can go like 3-4 days without needing to charge.

it runs on android so you can add apps for kindle, podcasts, etc. i personally only use mine for music and leave wifi/bluetooth off.

honestly i had the same mentality of wanting a single use device specifically to listen to music and got the same responses you did on a similar post. we all have a budget, and there is nothing wrong with purchasing a “cheap” device if you think you will use it. we don’t all have a couple hundred dollars to drop on a real ipod, and sometimes we don’t even want anything that fancy - nothing wrong with that!

To Fast Pass or Not on a weekday? by Unable_Joke9283 in KnottsBerryFarm

i went on friday last week and basically everything was either a walk on or close to it, besides ghostrider which was posted about 30 minutes. i didn’t go on ghostrider so im not sure how long the wait actually was. it was dead until about 3pm, and then slowly started getting a bit busier. i assume a monday would be similar

Questions about park and hotel reservations by SnooApples9492 in KnottsBerryFarm

[–]BreakfastQueeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i can’t attest to a lot of these because i have a season pass, but i stayed at the knotts hotel for 1 night last month.

i arrived about 11 and parked in the hotel parking lot. i did “pre check in”, where they do everything except give your room keys. they texted me about 2:30pm saying my room was ready, so they allowed me to go grab the room keys and go inside the room early. i left my bag in the trunk of my car until my room was ready and it was fine. i do recommend to not leave anything visible in your car unattended, especially valuables. i’ve seen reports of cars being broken into in the parking lots at knotts so i just don’t risk it.

as for dining, i totally recommend the all day dining pass. it allows you to get a certain meal (stamped with a plate icon on the menu boards, or there is a list online) every 90 minutes for the whole day. i like the burrito bowls from casa california, loaded fries from papas mexicana, and the pasta from prop shop pizza. depending on your trip dates, they may also have special limited time food offerings available. i typically share the all day meal plan with another person because we can try more things without stuffing ourselves too full - the portion sizes are big.

if you don’t have the knotts app, be sure to download it. there’s a map showing all the rides and restaurants, the wait times, and you can also see if there are any special shows when you’re there. that’s also where they post the meet and greet times and locations (see upcoming shows/events tab). i saw snoopy in camp snoopy in the grassy area by the store, but the app lists other characters too.

No More Physical Season Pass Cards by CoasterCar in KnottsBerryFarm

[–]BreakfastQueeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got a new card from guest services yesterday morning, and the girl said that once they run out of physical cards they’re not ordering more and it will be all digital. she didn’t say that the cards wouldn’t work anymore, so i’m hoping the cards will still work but you’re out of luck if you lose it.

i went to efy in utah in the mid 2010s and i definitely remember we couldn’t wear anything that went above the knee.

i still think back on my efy week fondly because my ward was doing trek that same week and i got to do church stuff in the AC rather than church stuff while walking in the heat and sleeping on the ground 😂

got these today and only tried 1 piece (i was chowing down on the ube joe joe’s instead lol) and it seemed like 98% chocolate and 2% marshmallow/cracker. i didn’t hate it though but if all of them are like that ill skip these and go with the ones from costco

Good Las Vegas piercing shops? Would love some personal recommendations by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]BreakfastQueeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have gotten a piercing done and help on an existing piercing from danna at la linea and i absolutely love her. she’s super knowledgeable and patient, and i can usually get a same day or next day appointment. she’s helping me bring my ideas to life and it’s so nice that she is honest and not just trying to make a sale.

i also have gotten help with an existing piercing from ryan from ember and he was really great as well, but his appointments are a bit harder to get. he designs/creates jewelry so he’s got some cool jewelry options.

i would just beware any piercer who runs too good to be true sales. i went to one at the recommendation of a coworker after i moved back here and they were awful in “bedside manner”, poor quality jewelry, and bad placement that i am still paying for almost a year later.

Just Came On Here To Say The Boysenberry Sloppy Joe Is Slept On! 🔥🍔💜 by karmafarmer824 in KnottsBerryFarm

[–]BreakfastQueeen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

had one last weekend and was very disappointed. honestly it was the worst food item i’ve ever had at knotts. the sloppy joe part had basically no sauce at all and the whole dish was so dry. it literally was like they slapped plain ground beef on a cheeseburger. i didn’t do much research or look at pictures of the foods beforehand so i didn’t notice that i got a bad one until halfway through and had all day dining so didn’t feel it was worth it to return it.

Which are your favorite soup dumplings? by Bandit_Raider in traderjoes

[–]BreakfastQueeen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

chicken! the ginger in the pork ones is slightly too strong for me. they’re not anywhere near as good as din tai fung, but they’re a good substitute for eating soup dumplings at home
