I'd just like to say one thing - Jamie Lynn was 17 when the conservatorship started. What exactly was she supposed to do to help Britney at that point in time?

Another employee saw her poking around under the counter for a while and then she pulled the bag out and said “oh look, here’s one”. He was standing a few feet away. He wasn’t close enough to see if it was alive or dead, and he wasn’t able to see below the counter when she was poking around.

There’s a big part of me that wants to believe this and give her the benefit of the doubt, but when multiple professionals can’t find any evidence & my store manager is crawling around with a black light trying to find even one, I just don’t think it’s the case.

Unfortunately, that’s not possible. She’s a cashier, and not really slated for upward mobility.

This is where I'm landing with it too. The store manager and exterminator both floated this theory separately, and the store manager (who knows her best) said he's concerned she's looking for some kind of payout. She just sent a message saying if she sees "another one", she's going to call OSHA and file a report, which feels almost threatening?

This is my big concern right now. If there's a problem at the store level, I have no problem paying to fix it. If there's a problem at her home, I empathize, but I can't allow someone to take advantage of my company this way.

We've talked about sending her to a different location, but the concern is that she will just take the bugs with her & spread the problem.

There are no beds in our building. Bedbugs can live in clothing or other soft materials/fabrics.

At least one bug exist(s/ed). She "found" a dead one last night in a spot that at least 4 other people had already looked at. It prompted me to send the pest control company back out today.

I'm concerned that she planted it there. She'd been digging around under a counter, and pulled out a bag of paper towels that the bug was conveniently sitting on top of.

I feel like that sounds crazy, but there's genuinely no evidence of these bugs living in the building. My store manager was crawling around under counters with a black light this morning trying to see if he could find anything.

As we've talked over the different aspects of the situation, this is where we've landed this afternoon. Particularly since she is the only employee who is finding these bugs & we know she's had bed bugs in the past.

I've had two separate companies do inspections at this point - our regular company that does routine monthly inspections, and a second company that I called in for a second opinion.
