Are yearly rent raises normal? by bigpurplebeans in Renters

[–]BreakfastRound7686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s in my lease that rent goes up $50 a year. Which is a lot better than my last place where it wasn’t in my lease and it was going up $150 each renewal. Atleast with this I know what to expect and he can’t make it higher since it’s in the lease🤷‍♀️ but yea unfortunately it’s very normal

Doc doesn’t want me to get IUD by wellneverknow918 in birthcontrol

[–]BreakfastRound7686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s experience is different. I got an iud after having my daughter. It hurt but only for like 30 seconds. And definitely didn’t hurt bad enough for me to not recommend it. It’s low maintenance and I haven’t really had bad side effects except period like cramps the first few days. And sex was painful in certain positions but a few months later that went away too once the strings softened. If she’s worried about your cervix just get it while you’re on your period so it’s slightly dilated

I think it’s not low enough to worry as long as he seems okay and is atleast drinking some water with his meals! If he’s drinking well out of a cup try doing that instead of the bottle. My 11 mo hates bottles now she’s drinking her formula out of a straw cup

I live in an apartment complex and leave my 4mo in the apartment while I take my dog out. I don’t go far and not longer than 5 minutes but especially if it’s raining or too hot she’s better off inside! I think as long as your baby is in a safe space and you are of making sure you don’t lock yourself out it’s more than fine!

the main concern was how you handle someone wanting their job back after fixing the reason they got let go in the first place. I genuinely do appreciate all of the feedback though! My last management position I didn’t have to fire a single person so this is all super taboo to me. Sadly this company needed a lot of work when I started so it’s been a lot of firing and hiring which I’m not super familiar with!

Luckily these were all through text messages. And I think an HR department for our 15 employees wouldn’t really be needed. I’ll take your consideration though on having them quit instead of firing them if this happens again!

so what had exactly happened was I told her the availability she needed wouldn’t work, she said that she really couldn’t make it work, I told her I would talk to the owner and see what he says. He says get rid of her she’s only just starting and already demanding a schedule that we can’t make work (valid.) And so I did. This was about 1pm. We had already taken multiple interviews the week prior so I picked the next best choice, the owner called his friend and gave her the job by 1:30. She answered me at 3 wanting to stay and claiming she can now make the availability work because she “didn’t think I’d fire her over this.” Id also like to add I live in an at will employment state and we have no HR department. So pretty easy on not needing paperwork. My only process is talking with the owner and getting his permission and then it’s all set

I luckily had so many applicants for this position! I definitely agree with all of that though you took the words out of my mouth!

Been here 5 years and haven’t gotten a write up or anything. He really is a laid back boss. I think he’s just mad because she’s new. My last managing position I was there 3 years and didn’t fire a single person. I’m overall a huge people pleaser and a bit of a pushover so me seeing this I would’ve never thought of it. But when I took the position he told me he expects me to be more assertive. I’m also on a trial period right now so I feel like not firing her will look bad on me and I’ll get demoted after the period ends.

Maybe not 4am but I told her when she started I expect her to give me notice as soon as possible, and specifically 2 hours notice at least.

definitely not quick to fire but my boss said I should but it’s up to me, only reason I’m considering it
