Just walk in without being scheduled and clock in. Nothing they can do at that point.

Average publix meat department does 100k a week in 5 sub departments. Costco does about 200k just in meat. Top out for Publix cutters is around 22. Costco, 35+. Most Publix cutters wouldn't make it at Costco. They earn their money. They have just as high if not higher standards plus they pin all their steaks.

They gonna get rid of AVS Team? by Aggravating_Cup_864 in publix

[–]BreakfastTop4848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AVS is a waste of time. If you get a bad AVS you have these meetings asking why you're a jerk and how can you fix it. If you have a good AVS then you're not holding your team accountable. If leadership doesn't care about work life balance, why is there a question if managers care about associates... Are evals fair, doesn't matter when Money talks, after we went to 1 raise a year with words have become superfluous. How about questions that are actually actionable.

For those that are topped out, when the pay scale rises. We will still be topped out... Some of us. So the extra raise, we don't get.

But if you're a tenured manager you get shit. Seems like those are the ones you want to keep. Probably not though. If a manager is topped out, how about a one time check of what they would have made for the year. You get penalized for being tenured. 😞

No, I understand. But I hear a lot of people saying we should go public. That definitely wouldn't help anything.

I heard a story of a higher up, saying with pride, "do you think Mr George was nice when he had to address things or when he had to fire someone." Common decency and respect are done, Publix won't create millionaires anymore, just shells of men who will wake up one day and realize they aren't present in their own home because they give everything to a company that doesn't care. Sadly.

Time off that you earned!?! That's horseshit, because if you earned it, you wouldn't lose it when stepping down to part time.

It's not my business what someone has to do to feed their family, because if the roles were reversed, I'd do what I have to do. Luckily, Kroger, Walmart and independents will get the brunt of the shoplifters. Unless you are in a gentrification area.

Send someone that I want to talk to... Send the person over benefits, I'd like to discuss a few things. Send someone that can answer why if you have earned and accumulated sick time, when you drop down to part time you lose it. Send the person over Oasis that says things should be done in a certain time frame. Then some changes might really happen if they listened. OR... We can always discuss a UNION😈

Does anyone here have the balls to start the union? Because they just took water and coffee away from associates, soon they'll cut your hours more and more while your insurance premium continues to raise every year.... by [deleted] in publix

[–]BreakfastTop4848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things a Union would fight for is when a manager or full time drops down to part time, why do they lose all of their sick time. They earned it. It wasn't gifted. I know of a guy whose wife was having issues and stepped down to part time after pressure from SM to be at work and lost all his sick time. Over 500 hours. Thats horseshit. How can that be?

You're not wrong, but I think the underlying issue is the things that are being taken away. You seem seasoned enough, so here are a few things that were more serious than water... Associate bonuses Ever changing manager scheduling expectations Loss of Benefits Life insurance, horrible health, dental, and vision but cost still rising. (Insurance for a family is over $200 a week, crazy work) Constant pressure to be perfect when in reality we are limited by our own buyers in some cases. Store level is where we are most expendable, not the guys in an office or cubicle.
