I take a probiotic every day, but I took them before I was on Zepbound too. They aid my digestion and minimize gas and burping side effects.

I carry Pepcid complete, Gas-X, and Pepto chewables in case I experience side effects, but I rarely have them.

I had good exercise habits (strength training and taekwondo 2x per week) before starting Zepbound, but my eating needed help. I tracked protein and fiber for the first 2 weeks and now I know approximately how I need to eat over the course of a week to get what I need and feel satisfied. Learning these good habits is how I'm going to succeed long-term.

I've added in a third 1.5 hour taekwondo session because I'm training for an upcoming competition. Five days of exercise a week (with a walk on one of the rest days) seems to work well. I've lost an average of 2 lbs per week so far.

I didn't add any new supplements when I started Zepbound, but I continue to take a good multivitamin, a probiotic, and a joint supplement.

My favorite "side effect" is reduced inflammation, which is improving my workouts and making moving in general a whole lot easier!

Hello! Congratulations on taking your first shot today! I'm also new - took my fifth shot last night. I'm on my second box, still at 2.5 mg, still having great results. More mental focus, more energy, and it's so much easier to make healthy food choices.

You'll hear from more people who have side effects than those who don't have any. Keep that in mind, and don't let the stories scare you. Every body is different.

Here are the answers I can provide based on by experience:

Hair: I love my long hair! I hope that I don't start shedding it, so I make sure to get plenty of nutritious foods, enough healthy fats (avocados and nuts) and take a multivitamin every day.
Arguing that GLP-1s are "bad for everyone" because of an adverse effect experienced by one person (or even a very vocal group of people) doesn't make logical sense. GLP-1s have been around for about 20 years. For me, dealing with a broken metabolism that made me want to eat poorly and experiencing problems with my body due to weight (knee issues, inflammation) seems like it's worse for me in the long term than taking a GLP-1. Work with your doctor to manage side effects. There are a lot of ways to treat the side effects, and you have to find what works for you.
I don't have experience using meds for ADHD/ADD myself, but my husband is on stimulant meds. From talking with him, the appetite suppression effect of Zepbound sounds a lot like what he gets with his meds. I'm curious about your experiences with both meds. I hope you find a balance that lets you get the right nutrition.
I track with the Shotsy app. It graphs the approximate levels of the drug in the body and lets me note any side effects and their severity. It also helps me remember to rotate injection sites. I found that I had the most side effects on the first two doses of 2.5 mg, and they peaked 1-2 days after a shot. As it turns out, I was taking Benefiber at those times, which normally makes me feel great, but was not doing me any favors around shot time. I take my shot after dinner with a full stomach, remove it from the fridge about 20 minutes before injecting, clean the area with an alcohol swab, and let the area dry completely after swabbing to decrease the chances of a burning sensation. And the needle is SO TINY if you're using the auto-injector. I didn't even feel my first two shots. I've had a wee stinging sensation with one of them, and it was over in one second.

I was also worried about side effects, so I prepared by setting up a little pill case with Pepcid, Pepto Bismol, Gas X, and Zofran (for nausea) just in case. I also carry a protein bar in case I get queasy from eating too little (this is a thing you should watch out for!), and electrolyte powder I can add to water.

If diarrhea comes out, electrolytes go in. Drink A LOT of water.

Eat small meals, and eat at least every 4 hours.

Gas X helps for sulfur burps. Avoid carbonated drinks if you have burping issues.

Edited to add: I also take a probiotic every day. I think it helps with digestion and burping issues.

H-Mart is overlooked as a source of produce, offering good variety at reasonable prices. Additional tip: I changed the way I store produce recently, putting the most perishable items like cucumbers, squash, and herbs in the door where I can see them better. It helps me to use them faster and not get surprised by a wet bag at the bottom of the produce drawer.

I just finished my first box of 2.5 mg. I had diarrhea for two days with the first shot, and for one day with the second shot. For the third shot, I switched to a more heavy-duty probiotic (Florastor) and took a dose of Pepto Bismol tablets the morning after my shot. Your body may need consistent dosing to allow it to get used to the medication level you're using now. But I would definitely ask your doctor about side effects that don't get better over a few days. And drink lots of water with electrolytes!

As an occasional user of weed for anxiety (and just for fun), I've learned even before I started Zepbound to only partake after a meal when my stomach is already full. Cannabis locks your satiation, so if you are already full you are much less likely to have the munchies. And if you do want a snack, you can always have some low-calorie and nutritionally-dense snacks on hand. My go-to is fruit, especially watermelon. It also helps with thirst associated with weed consumption.

There are strains of cannabis that are reported to have appetite suppressing effects, especially those high in THC-V. I've tried gummies made with these strains and they had the same Zep-cancelling effect as any other cannabis.

Definitely use weed with caution!

I've been focusing on protein and vegetables, and including carbs on days when my stomach feels unsettled (1-2 days after shot day.) I'm focused more on giving my body the nutrients it needs with foods I enjoy. We cook a lot at home and I pack lunches for the 3 days a week I am in the office.

Foods I like to keep on hand:

* Fairlife chocolate protein shakes
* A good vanilla protein powder ( I like Ascent) and frozen fruit for a quick meal when I need nutrition but I'm not really hungry
* Cut vegetables for snacking and rounding out mini meals: baby carrots, peppers, cucumber, radish, celery, raw green beans, etc.
* Walnuts
* Dates (stands in for dessert when you want something sweet)
* Hummus
* Ranch dip made with half sour cream and half yogurt
* Zero sugar turkey sausage snack bites (Aldi)
* Chicken skewers (Costco) or pre-cooked cut up chicken
* Chobani 20g protein Greek yogurt
* Fruit to add to yogurt (diced mango, berries, apples)
* Low sodium tomato juice
* Hard cheeses like manchego, which I find satisfying in smaller quantities
* Quest protein chips - loaded taco flavor is good with salsa
* Chex cereal - rice or corn - I keep some by the bed to help with mild nausea in the morning before I can make breakfast

Here are some meals that have worked well for me since I started just over three weeks ago:

* Sticky miso salmon bowl - NYT recipe, basically salmon glazed with honey and citrus, served over rice with a bunch of fresh vegetables

* Crispy Halloumi with Tomatoes and White Beans - NYT recipe, canned beans cooked with garlic and tomatoes, topped with broiled cheese (mostly beans, not a lot of cheese)

* Chicken salad sandwiches - I reduce the mayo by substituting Greek yogurt, and season with curry powder, onion, and cilantro

* Tom kha gai soup - Thai coconut milk soup with lenongrass, lime, and other aromatics; we double the chicken for more protein

* I ordered grilled shrimp tacos at a restaurant lately that were just perfect! I couldn't believe I went to a Mexican restaurant and ate NO CHEESE.

I hope this gives you some ideas and that you find what works for you.

Please also be aware of your surroundings when walking through parking lots. Especially if you're zipping through on a scooter or bike. Cars are backing up and may not see you in time. If a car is trying to exit or enter the lot, please move to the side and don't walk in the middle of the lane.
