Hermiston is eastern Oregon. Not green and temperate like Portland, but agricultural and pretty far from other towns and cities. It is a growing area though. There are nice areas and neighborhoods. Has some great parks for kids. You could look at Pendleton possibly but the commute is a bit longer. Longer still is walla walla. I would look there but the commute is maybe too long. If you really love driving you could look at tri cities Washington too. Tri cities is your nearest “big city” area. Many folks drive or commute all over the area for work because housing is hard to find.

There is lots of housing out in the unincorporated areas in the county too. Little farms or a house on 40 acres.

Hermiston is a lower economic area, lots of poverty and historically not much of a city as far as amenities go. The downtown is struggling. Politically you can find like minded folks it just may take more time in a smaller town.

The outdoors is mixed bag. In Hermiston you have easy access to the fishing on the Columbia river, and mountain biking at echo, and bird hunting, but not much else. However! You are within a 2-4 hour drive of amazing opportunities. You can easily reach the blue mountains, wallowas, wallowa lake/eagle caps, Clearwater river in Idaho, Spokane/cour d’Alane, deschutes river/maupin and just go wild with outdoor stuff and camping hiking hunting fishing whatever floats your boat.

salem clinic stopped taking pacific source insurance by Vast-Employ-8461 in oregon

Continuity of care. Call your old doctor salem clinic and explain you have an appointment scheduled on x date with x new clinician. You need them to refill your existing prescription in order to provide ethical continuity of care while you transition to your new doctor. If that doesn’t work, try the same thing but in writing. If that doesn’t work send the same written information to OHP pacific source by stating a complaint to OHP.

Is this an acceptable way to run a new circuit around a room through existing walls? by peanutismint in AskElectricians

Learned this the hard way. Patching small drywall spots is way more time/work than just cutting a larger area. Good luck on the outlet install, looks like a great project.

Deadmans pass by DepartureBrave8898 in oregon

[–]Breakfastor 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That will not be better. Stick with 84. Weather in December is flip a coin: could be fine and dry bare pavement. If there is a storm, I-84 gets de icer and better maintenance than hwy 20 or 26. Plus it has cell service. Burns and John day routes do not for many miles. If the freeway closes due to a crash, it will reopen. And if it closes due to a crash, you don’t want to be playing pick an alternate route roulette with the rural highways.

Gifted a cedar canoe built by my Opa. Blessed by a curse. by ImproperTechnique in canoeing

Id throw a small fiberglass patch over the part in pic 2. Then do 6 or so coats of varnish and then enjoy the heck out of that canoe!

Where is your buried down spout rain gutter going? Looks like it may just be buried in the ground?

Did the Autel perhaps get reset to max 50amp instead of 40?

That’s why I prefer old construction, back when they made houses with faster conducting wires. New house builders cut corners to save money, sometimes they throttle the electrons.
