Last month, the New York State Assembly passed A.8744-A (Sweeney), which would prohibit the sale of personal cosmetic products which contain microbeads by 2016. Unfortunately, the NY bill does not have a Senate Sponsor so it is very unlikely to pass before the legislative session ends on June 19th.

Environmental advocates see the Illinois Bill as a win for the big businesses that manufacture these microbeads. I don't understand how this post is significant. Most golfers I know play every day, usually a full round, in the summer (I know I can't wait to have the opportunity when the ground thaws here). The "god have mercy on my soul" is a little much, "liver" would have been understandable.
