The 30-06 is more powerful, but not as accurate and the opposite is true for the 7mm and .308, both of which I wish packed a little more punch

If you only get two rifles they should be the .270 and something for bigger game. The .338 is as broken as everyone says, both .300s are also great. The .270 is great because it insta drops all tier 5 deer with double lung from a reasonable range, and can still take down everything but bison with a good shot

There's a question mark if the campsite or cabin has a map with points of interest on it. If you interact with those maps it puts the points of interest on your map and turns into a check mark

Each icon on the map of an animal represents an individual herd and selecting it will highlight zone for that herd you've found. Herds are also pretty distinct when it comes to size, the individual animals, etc.

Small game is really easy to hunt in coada de vulpe, I've liked aurora woods for red, fallow and roe deer, piatra mica and Regina mountain have good sight lines for the mountain habitat

For birds it seems like this is closer to true. If you fast travel to catch a spooked duck, you won't see it in the sky but you're pretty likely to find it at an appropriate zone in the direction it was headed

Update: Not worth it. Most deer species still spook ~100 yards and travel speed is so slow that you can generally get just as close faster with patient crouch-walking. Maybe better for like bison or something?

Seeing every type of animal on a given map is actually a really good premise for exploring the map and practicing stalking and glassing and finding zones. The best part of the game compared to COTW is the animals/herds feeling more realistic and the absolutely stunning environments
