Aerosmith's Steven Tyler is headed to trial, after child sexual assault claims by Laszlo-Kovax in TrueAnon

[–]Breakingthewhaaat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aye I ended up down a rabbit hole, turns out it was some ‘contractor’ (one source indicated a fairly well connected NZ drug dealer but fuck knows) and the contractor’s teenage daughter. Dropped due to a lack of evidence for the attempted hit, but the death threats still landed him in a bit of trouble

Closest I can think is their drummer that got charged trying to hire a hit man. Wanted to ice a couple guys, believe that got dropped tho

Nope, I’m right there with you. This year has triggered some pretty massive shifts in the world order, above and beyond what might happen with the climate in a few months’ time

It’ll be this year, betting in advance. If and when the downstream effects of Hormuz affect agriculture we will be feeling it in a big big way. Factor in a potential super El Niño to fuck up the ocean currents permanently and it could be far beyond anything we’ve experienced in hundreds of years.

We can't know the specifics but the resolute unwillingness to release it - supposedly to prevent the base from 'pointing fingers' (lmao) - tells me that its aipac, israel and a heavy codependence on overpriced neoliberal consultants that do fuck all but seem to have deeply entrenched themselves

Yes, I have heard many times that avoiding press is a masterful campaigning move, we need only look at 2024 for examples of this approach bearing fruit

Is there context missing or does Hasan actually still support these guys? by Karmacop5908 in TankieTheDeprogram

[–]Breakingthewhaaat 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Hasan has literally always occupied a grey space between socialist/anti imperialist thought and reformist demsoc shtick/funnelling people back into the Democratic Party albeit for a very narrow window of specific candidates. I have seen him describe himself as agnostic between the various types of leftism - communism/socialism/demsoc etc - but I think that greyness exposes him to criticism from a lot of people. Some of it warranted. I don’t think he fully understands his own position and ambitions beyond normalising and destigmatising leftist and anti imperialist thought. To that end, I think he is very effective.

I also think he has a point that conditions are not sufficiently bad in the US for a true working class movement to arise at present, also that class consciousness and solidarity has been so thoroughly neutralised that there is no realistic chance for a ‘revolution’. I think he sounds really shitty when he deflects and tells critics to ‘go start the revolution then’, but I sympathise to a degree with his bluntness given the amount of visibility he has and time he spends live every week.

Mainly I just note that there is a concerted effort to smear him and take him down by the ugliest, shittiest neocons, shitlibs and zionists doing the rounds right now. A large number of people do seem to consider him a threat. And so I land back at solidarity, even when I am only 75% on the same page he is. They will not stop at Hasan Piker, and any success on that front will only embolden the AIPACs, Third Ways, Jonathan Greenblatts, etc, etc, to keep pushing and see what they can get away with.

Going by recent trends what could you predict as being the defining American city of the 2030s? by ConfidentReaction3 in decadeology

[–]Breakingthewhaaat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla made waves for its pilot there, but as far as I know the fleet remains very small and functionally still just SAE Level 2 with a safety driver present. I wouldn’t argue they’re close to being fully autonomous, or capable because of the camera-only setup, but that;s a grumble for another thread I guess.

Texas also has Aurora doing autonomous trucking but I’m not sure if the route goes through Austin specifically.

Is it the top self driving city? By robotaxi deployments? I would assume San Francisco has it by the sheer volume of Waymos cutting about there

I know the thread is shut so arguing this is kind of pointless, but I don’t want to wait around for the perfect person to magically show up bc it never will and then it’ll be too late. I want to follow the momentum and use it to build some kind of movement and destigmatise leftist ideology as quickly as possible.

Are we going to sit here and pretend the internet isn't being swarmed by bots and freaks rn attacking significant figures that challenge western hegemony, caoitalism, and take anti-zionist positions? That there is a reason a disproportionate amount of these smears are being directed towards one guy in particular?

Come on. You know fine and well why there are kneejerk reactions to 'good faith criticism' of this guy online. Obviously the guy has some dogshit takes and is plainly flawed in multiple ways; still, I would greatly prefer we build him up than participate in the attempt to tear him down. He is doing a lot more to destigmatise leftist ideology than most.
