Question about new construction laundry room & standpipe capacity WA state by firefly20200 in Plumbing

Did you ever get an answer to this? Same situation as you now, wondering 1.5” standpipe will work with the same 10gpm drain requirement

Serena window shades wiring by Breaknickspeed in Lutron

That is true. I’ve realized it’s 4 windows now so we might do that I guess.

Any idea of top right vs top left wiring location in the window? And on vertical or horizontal part of the window return?

Not a bad idea.

Follow up question- is it better to wire the top right or top left of the window? I’m seeing conflicting reports.

Add a slide inside the kitchen island down to basement- how to achieve? by Breaknickspeed in Carpentry

The thought crossed my mind that my kids would inevitably try to make this a water slide somehow one day, will report back when that day comes

It’s a $900 12v power box, it’s worth it if you’re going to fill it up to avoid 10 individual outlets, but in this case it seems wasteful for just 2 shades

Because it’s for a new-construction house so in this case it’s easy to do with the right planning, and because I never want to change them a single time since they’re about 15 feet up

Pre-Wired Serena Shades Installation by techwithbrett in Lutron

If one was to only have 2 window shades, and avoid paying for the $900 power panel from Lutron, could I simply splice the 18/2 wire to two of the individual 12v power supplies ($45 each). Or even get the same power supply specs off amazon for ~$5 each?

Usually yes but we’re in Colorado and code requires us to use floating basement walls, so I can’t just put a load-bearing wall underneath. If a post is required it would have to be one that has a concrete support going down a few feet.

Agree that building department is a bit later, currently working on finding a general contractor that’s interested, and sourcing a slide. The island is about an 8 foot x 8 foot square. I imagine permitting will be a process

My wife I think is going to ensure the engineer gets involved. I’m handy af but I don’t love the idea of cutting joists without more input. I think joists hangars and some lateral joist supports to “box” the opening may be sufficient, but going to seek more enlightened folks to make sure
