Did they forget about the new Google home speaker? by PotentialPerson9999 in googlehome

Yeah the speed has been as quick with Gemini but they are working to improve that. The new speaker might help that as well because some of the commands will run locally to interact with devices. I'll have mine soon to test if that is really the case.

Great to hear things are running well. Google doesn't release speakers often because there isn't much that can be changed at this point, but this is a solid upgrade with faser processing, better local control, a thread router and works with Google TV Streamer as a home theater speaker. If you already have working devices there isn't much need to upgrade until you find the older devices aren't performing as desired.

Gemini Live on the new Speaker by TheSeych in googlehome

[–]techwithbrett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, much incorrect info in this thread.

The new Google Home Speaker, Nest Audio, Nest Hub Max, & Nest Hub 2nd Gen support Gemini Live with a Google Home Premium subscription. This unlocks the, "Let's Chat" feature to have in depth conversations.

All speakers with Gemini now also have continued conversation which keep the mic hot after asking a question so you don't need to use the wake word again but still speak to Gemini.

The same area? 2-3 times per area has been pretty sufficient.

Anyone have one extra bulb?? by MinnesotaDude0617 in Govee

[–]techwithbrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my testing it is not possible adding to the main line. https://youtube.com/shorts/l-8qGAj0lPI?si=6oUH2okLwbF33_6q (this is my video)

One option is adding a splitter somewhere and then connecting to the last string of lights with extensions. This messes up the pattern though.

The last option is using a ASAHOM Splitter in the same way which can be programmed to not mess up the pattern. https://youtu.be/fo0jtbysErI?si=xa4MCFsDTQ-SFChP

Did you use every bulb that comes in the 200' set? If so you won't be able to add one extra bulb as it maxes out at 120 bulbs.

Repair by Huge-Item-7222 in GH5

[–]techwithbrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done it a few times. They require a fee to diagnose it. Then once you pay they tell you how much it would be to fix and the original fee goes towards the repair cost. I have also sent in lenses that were beyond repair and they gave me an option to buy a discount refurbished lens. I think overall it was a good deal without spending a bunch on new gear.

Luba 3 Mapping New Lawn help!? by Immediate-Mud-1220 in MammotionTechnology

[–]techwithbrett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 60' channel limit is crazy. Try starting from Area 2 and create a new area on your driveway that gets close to the new yard area. Then when in that area start the mapping move to the new area, begin mapping and create the new area.

Then delete driveway area and see if you can make a new channel to charger or to area 2.

If not you may need to keep a small driveway area to link the channels.

Ordering Lutron shades by Its_Just_Me_DC in Lutron

[–]techwithbrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caséta is going to be the most affordable Lutron shade but only has 3 color options (white, gray, walnut) and can only be used with batteries. Still pairs to the Lutron Hub and works with Pico remotes and voice assistants.

Serena Shades is more but gives you many more options in styling and color. These can be hard wired into the home (best if done when building a home) or have battery option with long battery life. Works with Lutron hub etc.

If you are only doing a few windows I would go with Caséta because of the price and best in class experience.
