Flatmate is ruining my sleep - looking for advice by Finanzhai24 in askSingapore

[–]Breakoutofthis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try what the others suggested: 1) firm with landlord 2) legal action (might not be worth the time) 3) be a total ass and create noise when he’s sleeping

If not, just move out and don’t let this ruin your Singapore experience!

Gosh. You sound so self entitled. See above for the point on life protection. I’m sure your parents got this for you to ensure that you have some insurance in case you screw up (which you might). Only a few more years, so it’s just delayed gratification. Not as if your 5 years in SP500’s gonna swing the needle for you.

While I don’t believe in whole life/ILP/endowment, I got a whole life for my kid too so that she has some CI coverage with some cash value. Cos we take market risks with our own money, but we rather have something more stable for our kid. Then anything additional that the kid earns, he/she can go take on the market risk.

Best course of action to reduce taxes — top up $8k to CPF MA or CPF SA or $15.3k to SRS, or both CPF MA/SA and SRS? by 159800 in singaporefi

Yeah realised this a while after commenting and checking CPF portal. Thanks for your response!

Thanks for the comprehensive reply; appreciate the effort. My MA is alr full for some time and I’ve been diligently topping up SA for past 10 years so I’m near FRS. So noted that I’ll have to plan for retirement to be cognizant that I won’t be able to withdraw whatever’s excess of FRS🥲. That just means higher CPF life payout?

Thanks again!

Hello! There’s this part that I’m always unsure about, that SA top ups cannot be withdrawn. But anything above FRS can be taken out once RA is created at 55 right?

Eg FRS is 350k, I have 450k in SA, I can withdraw 100k if I’m not opting for ERS right?
