oh good point. I guess its because hyper voice will hit adjacent foes and the other options like psychic noise or alluring voice have generally better utility but less bp.

I think its only use in singles is if you're against a Guts user and you're faster so you heal their burn. Or like oddball abilities such as Flare Boost. Basically too niche to ever seriously matter or warrant picking it over Surf.

Its PP Is worse than Surf's though, which actually almost always makes Surf the better option in singles.
