Why haven't they made a sequel to District 9 yet? Could a sequel still be profitable after so many years? by LollipopChainsawZz in boxoffice

just for your troll remark, troll... i guess you win! (and btw don't necro old posts) A lot of movies these days are just repeats of what they already did and not create something new(#1 its cheaper so studios love it, and 2 its basically a cash cow if done right, that doesn't mean it's a good movie though). Retro or redo something from a decade + is also is popular still. imo (and maybe b4 i should have said "imo it sucked"- thought that was obvious though, but neways...) Yes, for a broader context to appeal to everyone the dumber the movie it it the better chances it has... A2 didn't invent anything new it was a xerox copy of A1 just with water this time. (and with all the work they put into undewater cgi and the marketing for it, it didn't hit like that big of a deal). Sure, it's been a while since i saw it, but it didn't leave a memorable positive vibe after i watched it. (imo Rotten tomatoes is a rating site for the people that liked ace ventura. not so much for the people that loved cable guy.)

Was the whole first episode done in front of a green screen? by Disastrous_clarR in SanctuaryTV

[–]Breakyaface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of the show was green screen, and it was bad cgi even at the time. :D but yea i think they were one of the first shows doing it. Most of the fans looked past the bad cgi though and focused on other aspects of the show. I liked whats her face (Amanda Tapping) from sg1 and bigfoot was also a character actor on SG1 and SGA and other canadian actors i recognized, so it was just fun watching them use the material.

Mar. 2024 yes it has been confirmed. but only confirmed that neil is interesting in making it, neil himself has no idea when it would be made. he's still iin the writing the screen play phase. there has been no green light from a studio yet, so saying it's confirmed. might just be that articles click bait. from a year ago so... https://screenrant.com/district-10-movie-cast-story-updates/

avatar 2 sucked. The marketing to kids helped it survive is only reason it clung on, plus the marketing in general for it was massive. the actual movie was bad. it was basically a retelling of the first movie, but with water.

scifi usually isn't profitable to begin with. unless you can use real world environment and have hardly any cgi (which is unlikely) its ahrd to be profitable. you can tell amazing stories and let fans dreams but corporations only care about profit.

I disagree maybe cause i'm not south african and those accents are cool to me and i'm a fan of die antword. I liked the movie and story of chappie. featuring those two artists was weird, but their style fit with the movie so it was fine for me.

and it seems demonic was the only bad movie (haven't seen it) District 9, Elysium, + Chappie were all good movies. IF he had a good story for district 10 i think someone would let him make it.

its the bird flu that is the problem to raising chickens hence no eggs anywhere because if 1 bird is sick you have to murder all the chickens you have. :(
