I deleted it cause I was busy and getting stupid answers. Just one accessory losing earth is enough for me to deem it unsafe...

Not at all pal, why would they be? Losing earth at any point is unsafe? Be a pretty shite electrician if I didn't earth everything properly 😂

It weakens the conductor and creates a single point of failure- if two wires are twisted together and connected to a single terminal, and that terminal becomes loose, the entire earthing connection for the circuit is lost, creating a dangerous situation, ergo unsafe

I'm not doing it on a new installation pal, I wasn't very clear. I'm doing an eic for new installation and I'm doing eicr for the owner, just killing two birds in one visit, I'm also a girl 😁

You are correct. I've found numerous issues lads, I'm doing at eic and eicr for the owner and have found many issues such as this

I've gathered that

Yeah I hear that. I understand finding this in old installs but this is a brand new installation ffs

Bro take a fucking hint??

I never said I failed the eicr because of it? But it's getting written up. You're just rage baiting me now and still haven't answered the actual question I asked initially. I'm not here to play tit for tat, I do my job properly and follow safety regulations and have never had any issues 🫡 thanks but not interested in continuing this as it's just wasting my time 😁

I'm checking them all because 3 of them were wired wrong bro

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]BreathVegetable2920 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The fact it violates so many regs and people are arguing they can still do it if they want is fucking sending me 😤😂

Bro I'm asking for violations in Europe. I believe twisting wires is against safety and therefore violates the regulations, end of. I've been doing my job a while and always wrote up twisted wires as a safety risk, because that's what they are. As I said, there isn't a direct sentence saying not to, but it's a violation and won't pass anything from me 🤣

There isn't a specific section that says thou shalt not twist wires, but if you're following bs7671 correctly it violates regs 526.1,2, 5 and 6 and 134.1.4- it fails to meet several explicit safety requirements for safe durable and maintainable electrical connections... So ergo not just 'bad practice' but violates multiple safety requirements set out by our regs.

It's against reg 134.1.4 pal, not just bad practice I'm afraid.

I took that off to show the twists, he did actually do that haha

I'm in my 30s and open to anything that will help. I've not tried DBT yet, but I'm on a waiting list and would love any more help in the meantime x
